He makes a fair point cobs. A lot of Conference players have gone up their in recent years and done very nicely for themselves.

Last season Higdon scored loads of goals, he played for Crewe in England. Griffiths was quality for Hibs, he plays in league one. Niall McGinn got 20+ goals for Aberdeen, year before that he got FIVE in league one for Brentford.

If these are the top players then how bad are the poorest players? I admittedly watch very little Scottish football but i don't think i'm that wide of the mark by suggesting the worst players are conference standard. Would St Mirren beat a top conference side? I certainly wouldn't back them.

Hardly, the championship is choked with average SPL players.

That's a reasonable point Glossy, but doesn't mean you can compare the 2 leagues in general IMHO

Gees, his goal/game ratio is virtually identical in English football as it was in Scotland.

Despite how diabolical both of these teams are, got to say it looks like the better team (or the more adventurous team) will lose.

Charlie Adam the prime example. Plenty if other players in the Premier league that were average in SPL - Hoolahan, Ruddy, Speroni etc.

The champiosnhip is full of them and league one is full of them also.

No way the level of SPL is conference.

Neither of those 2 would make the play offs in the conference.

poor old Scotland.

I can recall the likes of Laudrup playing for Rangers not so long ago and now they get a job lot of players not good enough for the English 4th tier representing the league.

how times change.

the only way is up!
