as you said cri****, he does not need the money. and this late in the day, there is every chance the transfer will not go through which will potentially cause problems if remaining at everton.
on the other hand, if man utd rate him that highly, why not stump up the money while the buyout clause was active instead of making a derisory offer following the expiry.
