Tough one to call this as I have no idea how good the home side are. Might go under 2.5 as I can see Celtic keeping it tight and go at them in the home leg.

The length and difficulty of the trip over there cannot be underestimated and I have the feeling that Lennon would settle for another 0-0 bore draw and then finish the job back home.

Shakhter have good chemistry as a team but they don't have the skills to match Celtic. Even if Celtic don't really push for the goals, Shakhter will still slip up at some point in the game. They may be a top Kazehkstan team but they're is better teams in the Blue Square Premier League

Subs: Zaluska, Amido, Kayal, Stokes, Rogic, Matthews, Ambrose Ambrose dropped for new bhoy van Dyk with Mouyoukolo looking good too recently for a brand new central defence. Strong midfield that has plenty of creativity that should be too quick for home side. Big sammy up front is always a danger and can use his pace rather than his build this time as home side very physical. The astro turf though could make Celtic look very poor when trying to pass. |
