They are in a good position.
By:
cheers i think ill wait and see how they start the season they won the conference with ease but this is obviously much more competitive, top 6 might be the call

i honestly see us winning this division as well
yes - gray has gone but we had allowed for that by signing four new young strikers, all of which are potentially good potentially good. It only needs one of them to come to fruition to go with Benson/Cullen/Wall and we are set. Having Smith, Lawless and Guttridge back fit is a huge bonus to an already very talented midfield. Managed to get 30 notes on at 11.0 but am currently putting all my spare cash onto Germany to win Euro 2016 which seems pretty much a foregone conclusion to me - even without Lahm. |

Let's not forget that we also re-signed Andy Drury who was our best player last time he was here and has had a couple of years experience at a higher level so should be even better now one hopes!

Whoops! Wrong thread!
Finally signed Benson today and the two triallists (left back Onyemah and striker Walker). Onwards we go....... |

Hi mad,
Hope all is well with you. Drury a very good signing, Gray a big loss but plenty of chances for others, maybe Cullen can step up. Not put a bet on as yet, expecting a slow start as per last year and hope for a bigger price. Promotion looks on with the squad and support. Come on you Hatters! |
By:
6 years of hurt
An injustice rectified The road to the Champions League starts today C'mon you Hatters ![]() |
By:
What has the support.......... got to do with promotion? Support is off the pitch and promotion is on the pitch. Completely unrelated!
By:
er.....the size of your crowd (and hence money coming into your club funds) tends to trend strongly with your position in the system.....
Even a W*****d fan ought to be able to understand that. |
By:
A bit like Newcastle then ...................they are convinced they are a big team, big support etc! They were convinced of it when they went to the Cup Final in the 70's. They didn't win it then and they have won nothing since. Your talking out of your ****.

Come on Luton.
By:
what newcastle have actually won has eff all to do with where they are in the system........which is near the top end you thick tw8t

Good on you terry. Nice start.
By:
Nice start, expect Carlisle with some of the players they have signed to give you more of a game.
By:
I have had 500 on you lot to win the league at 8's.
Momentum is the key imo. Sown up by march imo. |
By:
Luton won't win the league,we were poor today, they were organised, that's about it,the fat scouser at the back was good !
By:
Cheers for that CU
It ain't the Gazzas that do the biz in the lower leagues Afraid to say Its who makes least mistakes & who are organised |
By:
I agree pal,got a soft spot for Luton,my grandad who died a few month ago was from Luton and everytime they played up here he would be in the Luton end, good luck who knows we might have watched 2 good teams hopefully

Went to the game yesterday....we played some beautiful one-touch stuff despite the disappointing result which was a total injustice.
Robbo, Jake and Griff were outstanding and Drury had a fine first half. Chin up everyone - promotion is looking very likely imho. |

Phew! Last minute Luton.

Hi barstool - went again tonight...good to go while my lad is at home from Uni for the summer.
Bury were very good and we were fortunate to get a point. I think we are a good team but they looked a bit better. Having said that, I feel that we didn't field the right team. Back 5 was fine and McNulty and especially Griffiths were our best players. Felt Robbo was overwhelmed in the holding central midfield role and really needed Ruddock (or a fit Jonathan Smith) in there alongside him from the start to give us a bit more bite, with Howells left and either Rooney or Drury right (in the absence of Lawless). Guttridge was non-existent, most unusual for him. and I feel that we could have swapped him with Ruddock at half time and let Ruddock play just in front of Robbo. Thought that to put our 'Yaya Toure' at right wing back as we did was a bit of a waste. However, we equalised, he scored and we had the best of the last 15 minutes so I guess I can't question John Still's tactics too much! I don't see Bury losing many games this season and they look a good inclusion for any acca's that you might be tempted into at weekends. |
By:
not looking forward to daturday when you visit the crown.
Our reserve keeper is garbage, if Shrewsbury had their shooting boots on it could have ended double figures tonight. Lets hope the board find some money from somewhere so Beattie can strengthen before saturday. |
By:
Thanks madhatter, I think once we have settled into this division we will be ok.
Dav, hope we don't catch you on the rebound this Saturday, often happens after a defeat like the one at Shrewsbury. Good luck for the rest of the season. I always look for their results as I can remember them from the league in the late fifties. |
By:
barstool,
the reserve keeper will play saturday as no loan signing arrived today. it could easily be a 4 or 5 nil Luton win. |
By:
2-0 to Stanley after 20 mins

draw was the fair result.
Out of the 4 league teams we have played this year, Luton where the worst, Southend the best. |

19th August......
''I don't see Bury losing many games this season and they look a good inclusion for any acca's that you might be tempted into at weekends'' Won five from five since I posted it up....hope you've won a few quid on them barstool! ![]() - and I still see us as their biggest threat. COYH!!!! |
By:
sorry - five from six, not quite as good as i stated below
By:
Looks like we are just starting to find our feet again.
By:
No striker so will have no chance of winning the league. Mid table maybe just outside play offs would be my guess anyway.
By:
Play off spot after today. On a roll now.

Tomorrow night......we finally
get to defend the JP Trophy that we have held for the last five years, ever since that wonderful 3-2 victory over Scunthorpe.![]() Undefeated in it since that day, so surely we are the real current holders of it? ![]() COYH |

Only conceded once in the last six matches!
And to think they drifted out to 38 on here ( ![]() , just because they only won one of the first six (but I was at two of those games they lost - and they should have won both of those comfortably) |
