If RVP had scored just a few of the numerous chances he has had in both legs, Utd would be home and hosed by now.

anyone claiming it was a red is basically saying that you are never allowed to challenge for a ball at that height

is that what you want?

if so I'll give up watching football

a yellow and please try to be careful at worst, but really just a free kick and shake hands, no harm intended

I am not biased, I ****g hate man utd, I am a season ticket holder at the emirates and have been since 1991 when I could get my first adult season ticket after being a junior gunner.

I just think it is appalling english teams get turned over by continental refs all the time

If your foot is raised its a yellow, simple as that

judorick, its ok to challenge, but not eric cantona style, with studs digging into a players stomach

i think it depends on the severity of the challenge.

Cantona was a deliberate Kung fu kick.  Not remotely comparable.

red card ruined what would have been otherwise a much more drama fuelled and closer conclusion to this clash of european heavyweights

it doesnt matter whats deliberate. i dont think arbeloas challenge when he recieved a yellow was deliberate but he still got a yellow for it

imo it's one of those ones where you're unlucky to get a red, but at the same time you can't really complain.

The truth is Utd have done better than most of us thought they would do after the draw was made.

the madrid player ran into nani's attempt to control the ball. nani should have been yellow carded at worst. never a red card and i'm neutral.

As a qualified referee it was neither mate

i consider that serious foul play. what. because he wasnt facing arbeloa he gets away with "he didnt expect him to be there" thats bullshit, his foot was nowhere near the ball, nowhere near

Why wasn't Wayne Looney on from the start?  The Premiership is just about won, the CL is the obvious big target.  United haven't looked remotely like scoring all night bar that fluked OG.

Let me guess, it was "brilliant management" and/or the tedious 'mind games'. Right?

I think having your leg up that high in the direction of a player could be deemed as either, but I'm no ref
