What a game this promises to be. The Champions against one of Argentina's biggest clubs who are staring down the barrel of relegation.
Make no mistake Independiente are in a desperate situation. For those not familiar with Argentinian football, Independiente being relegated is the equivalent of Liverpool dropping into the Championship.
Independiente are running out of time and this is without doubt the worst moment in the club's history. Vargas will be missing from their midfield tonight and they have a mini crisis at right back.
Also looming large for Independiente is the Clasico against Racing Club next weekend. One of the biggest Derby games in the World and Racing Club will love nothing better than to rub their rivals noses in it.
Independiente were actually very unlucky in their 3-1 home defeat to Newell's last week. They missed a penalty at 1-1. But herein lies their problem. They have to pick up wins and they threw everybody forward in search of the winner only for 10-men Newell's to punish them on the break.
Velez are the best team in Argentina but not playing like it at the moment. They narrowly beat a muggy Argentinos Juniors last weekend and then put in a miserable performance during the week in their 1-0 Copa Libertadoes defeat to Emelec. They were very poor in midweek.
They have a very important Libertadores game coming up in midweek but I think they will be focused on this game too. But they will be missing striker Ferreyra tonight.
Velez are a team that have been excellent at bouncing back from disappointing performances in past few years. They are famed for it. They are a tough team.
We can dress this game up anyway we want but the simple fact is that Velez are better than Independiente - much better. I think they will dominate Independiente's midfield and that will be telling. Also with Independient's dreadful situation I can see Velez doing what Newell's did last week and killing them on the break when Indy get desperate.
I've had a serious bet on Velez. It's time to bet like a man. Win. lose or draw I'm happy with the fact that Velez are much better than Independiente and today, hopefully, they will prove it

P.S Word of warning...I fully expect the Indy fans to go on the rampage at some point...maybe they are saving it for later in the season but it will happen!!!

There was a game earlier in Scottish division 1 where a side went 2-1 up in the 95th minute............and the other side went and equalised in the 96th minute.

Unders must've been gubbed in Qatar as well. Saliya v Raayan was 1-3 after 60 minutes and ended 3-7

do you specialise in spotting these gubbings Biscuit?
Report wisewords February 17, 2013 1:56 AM GMT
i'd imagine Celtic gubbed the u7.5 and maybe the u6.5 with their 6-2 aswell
Report wisewords February 17, 2013 1:56 AM GMT
first goal was after 10, so maybe the u6.5 was at 1.02/3
Report desperatemunter February 17, 2013 1:57 AM GMT
the Twente peg-back was sick - I stopped betting that team  a while ago, always doing stuff like that.   Didn't know Besiktas suffered a late equalizer too, that must have been a very short price

I can't remember my greatest bet but my luckiest was backing Adrian Lewis (by mistake) to win the world championship. I meant to back him to win the world matchplay that year but placed the bet at Hills and after it had gone through i realised my error but not much i could do about it. Anyway Lewis lost in the 1st round of the world matchplay but went on to win the world championships. Cheers then!!

I have lost again money because betfair close the live market and I dont could go out of my bet how I wanted do when I have done the bet...I understand they have lost the feed but you dont can close one in-play bet after first half you have offer in play.People manage alone with our risk but who want go out of that can go and not stay until the end and lost all wallet have put in this match because they dont have the picture...I have lost money than I dont lost sure if the match continue to be in play like normal,is the worst sensation for who bet on betfair...Sad
Report The Mascara February 17, 2013 3:44 AM GMT

Report wisewords February 17, 2013 3:45 AM GMT
i feel sorry for you. it has happened to me 3 or 4 times over the past 12 months. sometimes with games not going inplay when they start, and other times when they lost the feed in the 2nd half. it sucks and betfair should let leave the market open as unmanaged if this happens imo.
Report wisewords February 17, 2013 3:47 AM GMT
on one game recently, i had bet on 0-0 half time, with the intention of greening out after 10 mins of play roughly. the game started and they didn't put it inplay and posted a message saying they couldn't get a feed. the game stayed 0-0 until 31 mins when a goal was scored. i lost quite a big amount because of this. the game was not available to bet on inplay at any other bookmaker either so i got screwed over
Report wisewords February 17, 2013 3:47 AM GMT
since then, i've become very wary.
Report mecca February 17, 2013 3:50 AM GMT

Report wisewords February 17, 2013 3:51 AM GMT

Report mecca February 17, 2013 3:54 AM GMT
Not very fair, market should find its own level from punters involved who can get info on matches being played, thought that was the idea of b/fair
Report wisewords February 17, 2013 3:55 AM GMT
you're right, market should remain open as an 'unmanaged market' so punters can save their money. betfair don't care though.
