He is alleged to have "sang a song in support of a proscribed terrorist organisation" during the match.

The 19-year-old was one of four fans arrested at the match, with a further supporter being reported to the procurator fiscal.

He pled not guilty to a charge brought under section 1(1) of the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012.

Fiscal depute Lynne Mannion asked the court to ban Mr McLeish from all matches ahead of a trial date in the New Year.

But Jack Brown, defending, said his client had paid £500 for a Celtic season ticket this year and would lose out if he was banned from all games.

Alias - What happened at Dens was NOT as bad as made out.  As I stated more people were arrested on New Years Eve for drink related offences. But this is portrayed in the same Scottish media as everyone was havin a party.  The Grass Market area of Edinburgh was like a scene from the TV series Casualty.

I'm NOT defending all Celtic supporters at Dens but I hate cheap shots at my club.

I wouldn't go near the Grassmarket any Friday night, but I don't think it was a cheap shot. If any of the behaviour of the 1960s is in danger of being repeated, it needs to be highlighted and nipped in the bud. Saying that, just as I avoid the Grassmarket, I'd now never go to a game involving Celtic or Rangers as visitors. I just wouldn't, it ain't a pleasant experience.
