Mex - what exactly are you saying they presented? The Chief exec appeared to rule out 'mis-hearing' in an interview. Hence, if the player(s) said they definitely heard something offense why on earth no Chelsea statement saying they are disappointed with the outcome? Do they have SO little belief in their own players.

If Clattenburg had been found guilty he would have had a life ban from refereeing certainly at top level. Jon Obi Mikel should be banned for life for deliberately trying to end a referee's career. If he was sued for libel he could face a hefty payout as well.

At the end of the day everyone except some at Chelsea know the only action sensible to take here was (at most) the manager or senior exec going in private to Clatts & referees & FA official - this boys upset says you said something....I didnt, we didnt hear that...thanks, good night.

If Chelsea aren't totally hammered for this the game should die They chose to throw their weight behind this frivolous repulsive accusation despite there being no case to answer The player concerned should be given a massive ban and fine and sanctions against Chelsea should be damning There is no way anyone who can talk / walk and read could make a racist case against Clattenburg so it was born out of something else , whatever it waas was calculated and with malice I actually hate the game nowadays for what it has become even though I still take an interest in the results etc and of course betting opportunities but it is a fukkin disgrace and represents everything that could be rancid and bad in a "sport" |

if it wasn't their club involved?
i would expect any organisation were an employee made an allegation of racial abuse to proceed through the "proper channels". if they then went further and spaent time, and a fair bit of money to try and acertain the facts, and then proceed on the advice of the independant legal team, i would probably say they'd acted in good faith. |
