ps it's easy to be player of the year in serie a, it's such a pedestrian league - and that's his pace.

I've watched him and sometimes he's brilliant and sometimes he's not. Last night he was awesome. His second was brilliant.

Do you want me to post Phil Neville's stats - he's won the champions leauge not mention phil lambert.

When Phil Neville has won player of the year or been top scorer then yes, feel free to come back and post his stats.

Surely the fact the keeper wasn't in the goal was the whole reason he took the shot on so early? Crazy

Biscuit, posting stats doesn't help your point, he's done very well in serie a in terms of honours and goals but if he were to have spent the best part of decade in a Spanish side, he wouldn't have half of all that, but the main point being, he would have been found out a lot quicker - you don't watch half as much Italian football as I do/did during his time, and I am telling you he is overrated, for people to put in the same bracket as genuine world class players is laughable beyond words.

So carry on celebrating his glorious achievements in a dodgy league full of fixed results and suspect referee's, real world class talent belongs to likes of messi, henry and ronaldo.

And one more more thing - what has he done on the big stage, no European cup to speak off- every time he's come to England in the champions league bar one game v us, he's been useless.

he was too lazy to fit into the Barca side, something that could possibly also hinder him at the top clubs if he were ever to grace the Premier League. Bit like Berbatov in that respect.

Your argument falls down here because i'm posting stats which are facts whereas what you are posting is just an opinion.

You don't win golden boots and player of the year awards unless you have something about you.

And your argument about different leagues is irrelevant. Henry and bergkamp were both unbelievable players, but both flopped miserably in Italy. Does this make them any less of a player in your opinion?

And you can't possibly know how much Italina football i watch so again, it's an irrelevant point.

He didnt have to see goal, he seen were goal was

it's such a pedestrian league - and that's his pace.
It a technical tactical league, just re watch the play between italy england this summer, maybe if English players went abroad they might ;earn to play football

Bisucuit you've posted facts based upon misleading stats, he has a great record in a league not on the same level as the English Premier League or La Liga.

Just face it, he doesn't cut in when he mixes it with the big boys, no European Cup, no consistant top performances against a top international sides either - and that's not including England last night and their B list defence.

Kingorrome, the reason why Italy prevailed over England was simply down to poor tactics by Hodgson, who allowed Pirlo to have space and therefore dictate the game - an irrelevant point in relation to what an overrated player Ibra is,

He knew the 'keeper was well out, glory beckoned. He took a chance and got lucky. I agree with mesmerised, 100s of better goals even in the last 10 years.

'lurka

I think the clown is the person who comes up with as weak a justification for his 'moving on' status as you, yet another poster who can't string together conherant statements without sounding angry.'

So you admit that my statement above was 'conherent' [sic], just that I sounded angry? Or are you still sticking by your ridiculous reasoning that he left all those clubs against his will because manager after manager got rid after they realised he was overrated, despite him winning league title after league title?! My justification was weak? In comparison to that? Please.....

I'm sticking by my opinion that you are a clown. And I'm not angry at all, I'm laughing here along with the majority of people on this and all your other threads. I think the goal has been completely overhyped, wouldn't make my top 30 either btw

'it's easy to be player of the year in serie a' - yet another clownworthy statement. You are speaking with both feet in your mouth at this stage.

Makes my list of top 10 goals despite being a friendly.

He knew Hart was 20 yards from goal that's why he went for the overhead kick....a great goal in my opinion; I'd also layed Sweden to win 3-2!Laugh

1) it was a hit and hope type of goal. MOST GOALS ARE YOU MORON

2) It was a friendly SODO TEAMS TRY AND LET IN WORLD CLASS GOALS IN FRIENDLIES?

3) Hart was 20 yards from goal (open net) KEEPERS DECISION SHOULD HE WAIT FOR HART TO GET BETWEEN THE STICKS?

4) First choice defence not present. NO DEFENDER WOULD OF STOPPED THAT FFS THEY CANT USE THEIR HANDS.

5) hth TWOT

Pointless arguing with mesmerised, he doesn't like Zlatan so his mind is made up that it was lucky. Look at some of the forumites who've agreed with him (Roy Keane and Dawsy, need i say any more). One has an 'over rated' players thread that lists Messi and the other thinks Carrick is better than Xavi. Not to mention mesmerised himself who thinks di Natale, di maria and mario gotze are 2 of worlds 40 best players of the past 10 years.

Complete clowns.
By:

Those players in that list were top players I was thinking of off the top of my head to put into a top 20, if you re-read the thread you will see that, but to suit your points - you overlook that, for the record they wouldn't be in my top 20.

And Carrick is better than Xavi ?- do you enjoy being fished to tears?

It was a friendly match so it doesn't count, I've seen them scored in Sunday league football, night.

Answer this.

If he tried that 100 times - how many times do you think he'd score it - I would hazard a guess at ONE.

I'd say probably 7 or 8 times . Near Miss/ hit post 20 times , respectable miss 20 times , long way out out the rest .

An average top league striker might get it close 2 or 3 times out of 100 . Mostly they would just fail to make any sort of good connection or mistime. But that's irrelevant as an average player would never think to try that in the first place.

Anyone who does not understand why this was an unbelievably great goal simply knows nothing about football..i would go further and say their judgement on any subject is in doubt

AHEM. I'm a quantum physicist and I'm a nominee for a Nobel prize, and I think the goal was dung.Laugh
