I backed them top 3 in a 5 fold pre season which will win me a life changing amount but how bad to City look. As soon as Mancini signed Rodwell and Sinclair i'd of sacked him. They look dreadful. Absolutely murdered by both Dortmund and Ajax. Mancini has spent a fooking fortune and this is the best he can do
Pause Switch to Standard View Seriously, how bad do Man City look?

mate they will be in the top 3. they do look poor but fortunatly for u and them the prem lge is a shocking standard.
Report u want some October 27, 2012 10:49 PM BST
They will be in the top 3 correct but they still look fooking awful. Give any other manager that amount of money and they'd better this current city team
Report Biscuit1979 October 27, 2012 10:52 PM BST
I'm sure Rodwell and Sinclair were only signed so City could keep up their quota of the homegrown players rule
Report ked78 October 27, 2012 10:52 PM BST
I was at the match today boys, True we were shockingly bad but I'm taking comfort in the fact we are still winning games. We are also better off for points compared to the same games last season. In Europe I must admit we look like complete amateurs all although it was nice to get to "the dam" again
Report u want some October 27, 2012 10:55 PM BST
Probably true biscuit but even them aside they look terrible. They look like a team spent on money and not passion to me. You can't buy passion. I agree ked78 you are still winning games but lets be honest Swansea should of got something out of todays game. If this is the best you can put out after spending that much money its time to give in. I know Mancini has won the premier league but surely its time to fook him off
Report themover October 27, 2012 10:56 PM BST
I agree they aren't at their best at the moment but they are unbeaten in the league and haven't won (yet) against the champions of Spain, Germany and Holland. That group was always going to be a tough one and a group any team not in top form would struggle in.
Report themover October 27, 2012 10:57 PM BST
get rid of Mancini? are you mad? I've seen enough managers at City to last me a lifetime so I'll stick with the one that has won a couple of trophies after decades thanks Happy
Report u want some October 27, 2012 10:58 PM BST
Agreed they are unbeaten in the league and you have to commend that but come on they haven't half struggled in a lot of games this season. Gareth Barry, James Milner Joleon Lescott etc.... you have to spend better than that
Report themover October 27, 2012 10:59 PM BST
don't think Mancini bought any of them

You can have as much money as you like but at the end of the day you can only have 11 players on the pitch. There's no profit in football for these money men - why do they get involved? Chelsea 1 billion spent so they've won a European Cup and a few titles but they are hardly seen as the bastion of football. Anzhi £250 million - awful team. Zenit they spent 40 million on Hulk alone? Laugh You can spend as much money as you like but you can't buy what Barca have made for example.
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:07 PM BST
When was the last time silva played well?
Report The Bhoys October 27, 2012 11:07 PM BST
i think city have to many average players to be considerd a top team. for me joe hart is not as good as everyone thinks. lescott is defo not brilliant. barry, milner and dzecko r distincaly average to. and richards and zabaleta r shcoking
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:07 PM BST
Completely agree hamster dam but after spending that amount of money you would expect to see a better outfit that man city
Report ked78 October 27, 2012 11:08 PM BST
I still can't understand the obsession with City's spending, we are bought by a filthy rich owner and are still expected to buy players on par with Tony Scully, Lee Bradbury, Jamie Pollock and Neil Heaney. Other clubs are benefiting from our wealth as we pay well over the odds, Joleon Lescott £24,000,000 Jack Rodwell nearly £20,000,000. Everton don't seem to mind City's spending do they?
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:08 PM BST
Bhoys, spot on. Very average players but why are they still there? Everyone can see they aren't up to it
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:09 PM BST
they were also there last season when they won the league. If City had sold them and spent another £200m on new players you'd be up in arms about that Laugh
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:10 PM BST
Im not knocking city's spending money or any other rich team when its well spent but city's money spent is an absolute travesty
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:12 PM BST
Well put it this way mover they will never conquer europe with Lescott, Milner, Clichy, Kolarov, Barry, Richards, Dzeko, Balotelli etc why can't mancini see this. City play too narrow. They don't have  a single winger in their squad
Report forkinwinner October 27, 2012 11:12 PM BST
Zabaleta shocking? One of the best defensive full-backs in the league ...
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:13 PM BST

What position does Sinclair play?
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:14 PM BST
Ha ha i forgot about that lad from swansea, thanks for pointing that out. Another star alongside rodwell
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:17 PM BST
so when Sinclair was at Swansea and Rodwell at Everton you thought they were rubbish?
Report The Bhoys October 27, 2012 11:17 PM BST
zabaleta is not a good full back
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:18 PM BST
Shocked
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:19 PM BST
Listen pal i watch Everton regularly and Rodwell couldn't get a game so don't start with this. Sinclair looked pretty good for SWANSEA thats what he is, an average teams winger
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:20 PM BST
so they're squad players, I think Rodwell as played a couple of 90 minutes and Sinclair probably none
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:21 PM BST
Yes they are. Squad players for Everton and Swansea not a team that wants to win the champions league
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:24 PM BST
you're right, I think Garcia and Maicon were bought in with a view to the CL, they're both injured
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:25 PM BST
Maicon past it and Garcia hasn't done fook all for city.
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:26 PM BST

Bhoys, Zabaleta is solid. How many times have you watched him?
Report The Bhoys October 27, 2012 11:29 PM BST
as ian paisley would say NEVER
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:29 PM BST
Zabaleta has played over 100 matches for City, and 20 odd for Argentina now so I don't think he can be that bad, especially for £6m Silly
Report Biscuit1979 October 27, 2012 11:30 PM BST
Zabaleta is decent, sort of player that will never let you down. City could do a lot worse than play him at right back and move Richards into the middle because almost every time i've watched City lately, Lescott has been awful.

Talk of their demise is a bit much though, they are champions and currently unbeaten in the league.
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:32 PM BST
Mancini will go by the end of the year and they will bring in a manager that plays with width and they will thrive. Out with Barry, Balotelli, Milner, Clichy, Kolarov, Richards, Dzeko, Siclair, Rodwell, Lescott. Aguero is the only one that plays like he wants to play football. Everything is quiet, flat and static with Man City. Wenger knew the script with Nasri, get rid. Ive never seen a more narrow team. Everyone plays inside
Report DaveEdwards October 27, 2012 11:35 PM BST
imo the biggest transfer mistake was letting De Jong go. That man can stop a tank & he's just what we need right now.
Report ked78 October 27, 2012 11:35 PM BST
Zaba is a solid no nonsense fullback who never lets the team down. Class act

u want some - how many successful sides these days play with out and out wingers? Football has evolved from 442 and most top sides play 433 these days.

Only Bayern when Ribery and Robben are both fit (not often) that i can think of.
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:47 PM BST
Are you joking biscuit. The best sides in the world have width
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:48 PM BST
4-3-3 does not mean playing without width. Barca Pedro and Sanchez, hug the touchline. Real Madrid Di Maria and Ronaldo
Report The Bhoys October 27, 2012 11:50 PM BST
sanchez is poor
Report Biscuit1979 October 27, 2012 11:51 PM BST
Neither Sanchez or Pedro are wingers, they're forwards who can play anywhere across the front 3.
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:52 PM BST
probably lost in translation, they do provide width but are probably more forward than wingers. Width doesn't have to be provided by wingers. David Villa springs to mind as an example of that, a striker but often found lurking on the left wing.
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:53 PM BST
yes mover correct. They play out wide. Both Sanchez and Pedro hug the line
Report themover October 27, 2012 11:57 PM BST
City I would agree are a bit lacking in that area. It's better when David Silva is playing (and playing well) down the right-hand side mainly or just generally linking up with the left or right backs. For example when Kolarov and Zabaleta are playing Silva brings them into play, I haven't seen much of that this season tbh.
Report u want some October 27, 2012 11:59 PM BST
No pace either city. As good as silver is and nasri can be neither are quick. You only have to look at dortmund, speed kills.

they looked like a championship team against swansea sorry but i dont buy this team and their manager.in my opinion Mancini is the worst manager in the EPL at the moment, absolutely clueless.i'd suggest him to buy another 5 world class defenders and park a bus all match long against swansea, wigan or qpr and wait for a lucky goal
Report themover October 28, 2012 1:57 AM BST
perhaps a bit harsh bogaty, not sure the championship has improved that much! Swansea played pretty well for the majority of the game as well and I'm sure plenty of other teams will find them decent opposition as they were last season.

haven't really got out of 3rd gear this season this remain in a reasonable position in the league. still think they'll take all the beating

Very hard to believe where they are in the league , only seen them play amazin against sunderland really .

Testimony to a team that plays bad and still doing well , champs again and no mistake

I would say the champions league group is a tough one , Dortmund look a top class outfit and play amazing football while who the hell has the right to write off ajax , i think they underestimated them and dortmund being honest and i would expect improved form against them in the last three games ,

I think its simply respect , i see thier players after games seething and passing blame as if the win was a formality , when they learn to show respect they will be unbeatable

Went for an easy 2.5 goals yesterday against Swansea, they were pants. Not going on City anymore, they are rubbish.

City playing terrible and still winning.
At some point they will hit a bit of form.

Everyone is being a bit reactionary here.
They are unbeaten, admittedly not playing well though, but that will surely come at some point. I would question the desire of some of the squad though, that would concern me.
It's about time Ballotelli was pedalled off, that tw*t can do nothing for morale on the pitch.Selling De Jong was a mistake, he should have moved either Milner or Barry on first
