Kenilworth why don't you tell us all what your connection to the RP is?

Fwiw the Spurs bet is by no means the worst tip the mcgovern mug has put up. Spurs were unfortunate in some of their early games and deserve to have more points on the board than they do. The opposite can be said of manU, who have not always looked totally convincing in their last four games, all of which they have won. I have actually put up the draw in my selections this week. The thing that puts me off backing Spurs for the win is the abysmal record they have there and the unwillingness of referees to allow away wins at Old trafford in the premiership. Mcgovern may well be an ass as the OP suggests, but not for putting up this selection imo.

Fair enough Ken, you're certainly keen to leap to the defense of their staff on here whenever they get some stick. The Spurs manU game is a really interesting prospect from a betting point of view. Taking the current standings of both teams into account I think it's a pity todays game isn't at WHL. That would make for a really interesting contest.

Here's another good stats, concerning Chelsea and Drogba.
In the last 33 games between Arsenal and Chelsea..
WITH Drogba playing, 7 wins, 3 draws from 11
WITHOUT Drogba, 0 wins, 9 draws from 22.
No Drogba today, Chelsea win 2-1. how can

Not bought newspapers for years but from what i recall of McGovern in The Sporting Life & Mirror he was far from the worst tipster so hard to see why we have all these threads that suggest he is .

Maybe just as he usually picks out odds against tips and therefore inevitably picks more losers than winners, while most on this forum just back the odds on fav in any match they can find one Confused

Wether he is winning over time i don't know but surely if he is so useless the people taking the p!ss could start a thread listing their picks against his and see how they compare in the results.

Tobes it's all to do with the fact he nearly always opposes Utd/Everton and nearly always backs Liverpool. As usual it's the blatant tribalism in football and its merely a Liverpool v Utd /Everton thing, his tips on the most part are usually quite poor in all honesty he is fairly amusing although some of his jokes must come out of crackers
Report lukekelly88 September 30, 2012 8:06 AM BST

ok, noprogambler, the draw should have been shorter, the away
a bit longer, but for simplicity putting them together at 9/2
each equalled 7/4, with ManU at 4/7 = a 100% book and sometimes
on course you may see 4/7, 9/2,9/2 each on different boards.

"Bookies now quote Manchester United at odds-on to finish the season potless – but I doubt they’ll even do that well. Of course it’s far too early to write United off after just one defeat, but at the same time it’s terrific fun.

A year ago the Red Devils signed flop Dimitar Berbatov for £32million. Fergie publicly backs the bone-idle Bulgarian but privately must be searching everywhere for the receipt.

Fergie also picked up Michael Owen on a free but was still robbed. There’s even talk that Fergie’s job is on the line, with Hills quoting him at 9-2 not to be manager at the end of the season. But United are not a firing club. [b]United are a misfiring club."
