Tottenham tomorrow are Evens on the Hills coupon. I don't know if anyone on here knows about the betfair exchange, but apparently the price is 1.9. That means that you can visit the shops tomorrow and back them - then LAY the same team on here, and you must profit whatever happens! It seems such a good offer, I'll start a fresh thread on this forum, so that everyone can take advantage, and also provide a link on moneysavingexpert.com, because, after all, you don't need to know Spurs from potaroes to profit from this! Well RAPS if Paulie goes into a shop and asks for £21,000 to £20,000 West Brom, the bookie knows that Paulie will be selling that bet back on here - laying £22,000 to £20,000, thus ensuring a £1,000 profit whatever the result - so the more profitable course for the bookmaker is to refuse the arber and lay the bet on the exchange. Bit of a no-brainer really. Everybody's happy. Except Paulie.

He's only wanting to take what w/h have offered. Arbers are just bookies cowardly excuse for not laying a bet. Just glorified arcades or mini casinos now due to the FOBTs. |

Perhaps some of you guys have become accustomed to this way of doing business and accept it as normal.
Let me assure you that it aint. In Vegas the best books make markets close to 105% and you can get set for real money on sportsbets. Pinny is as good if not better, before the off you can get tens of 000`s on often @ better odds than here. Australia used to be decent in terms of getting set but TAB has started to **** out lately which is a disturbing trend no doubt started by their witnessing what is going on in Europe. Call me old fashioned but I reckon a Bookie should have an opinion and live or die by that. He already has a big advantage through the overround and thus deserves no sympathy if he won`t take a decent bet and whether the bettor may or may not be an arber is irrelevant. |

As pointed out above, the whole arbing excuse is utter nonsense.
They offer odds about an event for people to take. Hills collect or pay out on those odds. If the punter lays off elsewhere it doesn't have any effect on their bottom line. Someone else is paying out. Either employ someone who understands to compile the odds or get your fresh out of university odds compiler to update his database. Whatever they choose they should at least have the balls to stand their own price imo. |

Can't remember the exact details but I mind a few years ago being in a William hill shop when I heard an announcement telling all staff to check their computer screens, I sneaked over to have a look and I seen a message saying something along the lines of "if anyone places a bet of over £25 on Sam Allardyce being the next manager sacked to ring this number" I waited a few minutes then asked the guy for a quote on big Sam (was Newcastle manager at the time) being the next manager sacked and he give me 3/1 so I placed £24 on it. By the time I got home, about an hour later, I turned on sky news to see breaking news that Big Sam had just been sacked

Different points here Dave. In a way, it seems we should congratulate WH for at least laying the price to some kind of cash, whereas Lads etc would have simply slashed it. On the other hand, I agree that they should stand a bet, regardless of whether they think punters are arbing or not. Unfortunately, all big books are quite paranoid over this aspect. |

Billys generally keep their coupon prices on Premiership games this season although limiting the bets to very modest figures - Man U on Sunday being a good example as they were laying 21/20 for just £50 whereas you could get a few hundred with them on Wednesday when the coupons were first available. Think from memory they went off at around 1.76 on here. Other games from the Championship downwards they slash their prices pretty quickly along with all the other bravehearts.

alias that is exactly what they are asking staff to do if they get the increase in numbers or fobts in shops then it can only get worse for sports punters,how long before max £10 all bets for everyone (apart from cartoon racing and fobts) i still cant believe that people have not wised up to these machines
