I'd love to know what the Scottish Junior PTL is!!! What a bunch of cowards
|

Hills dont take singles on Scottish Juniors (Non League up here. Trebles only).
Perhaps this is to do with Scottish FA cup matches where prices do vary. I am about to do my usual post. |

Why is it that only Bookies aren't allowed to make decisions based on profitability? Always astounds me when I see the indignation
'Look!!! Look!!! Look what they've done, they've knocked me back on a bet!!!! Scandal' Get over it gents |

Business trying to minimise losses??? Whatever next? Why will it minimise their losses stato ? They have offered a price and should stand a bet. What does it matter what the price is elsewhere? It's their odds compilers fault if they offer higher odds than elsewhere. Instead of logging punters together they should be fined for false advertisement. |
|
By:
Exactly, I think there should be a law against a bookie offering odds on a bet and then refusing the custom based on that.

betfair themselves love "arb players", be good to see them trying to take action against billy hills.i've been in 000's of hills across the country, only ever met one bloke who knew what he was doing and his limit.no prizes for guessing his race!!
|

well done OP - I've always wanted to see wot was on their screens about 'us'. Often you here a broadcast message in a shop 'will about managers go to page xxxx....' and you just know the managers are being sent warnings about certain punters or certain kinds of bets wot they are getting filled in on!
|
|
By:
Good camera work OP, but this will not be new. The "balance" thing is plain silly. Basically, you're ferked if you do, and ferked if you don't.
If WH and the rest are so paranoid, why offer prices at all? Or why not go back to the crap old days of minimum trebles? Arbers or not, a bet is a bet. Feckin shysters, the lot of them. |

..................................................................................... The answer is THEY ARE, but this isn't about profitability. They're saying they'll lay my bet on e.g. Chelsea 'cos they don't know me, but knock you back 'cos they think you're an arber. They don't know the result in advance, and even if they did..... |

Question for bookmakers.
You want to limit the stakes on Arsenal for example @ 13/10. Therefore you would offer me a balance at a reduced price, I'm guessing EVENS. Fair enough. Therefore if I wish to back Chelsea @ 9/5 for £1000, do I get offered the first £100 @ 9/5 and the balance at 5/2?? Errrr....................I didn't think so :) |
|

this is just for starters
i'll post pictures up of all the staff that have me down as a arber weasels the lot of 'em |

Do they really think there is a team of arbers going around all of their betting shops trying to make a pound profit each time?!

The bookmakers are compelled to take your bet at
the price displayed on their screens and they get round it by offering half at the price (13/8) and the other half at a reduced price (11/8) effectively the whole at 6/4, though they cannot offer you the whole at 6/4. Confused? It's within the trading rules. |

They seem to think that, but so what? If they stick the prices up it shouldn't matter if you're an arber or not, a bet is a bet, they're paranoid. I suppose you should give them credit at least for holding the prices sometimes, more than Ladbrokes do. My brother in law lives on outskirts of Glasgow, Hills think he arbs, he doesn't, just likes value and he isn't even a long term winner so they're turning a way a losing punter, nuts. |

Srichaphan....the traders in this firm are all hopelessly paranoid,so their minds play tricks.

Why should they take anyones bets if they don't want to?
|
|
By:
I think it's the case that they advertise one price for mug punters, but don't honour that price for non-mugs. It's dishonest. In any other form of high-street trade it would be considered a violation of the Trade Description Act.

Correct Mr.Angry, and they do like to consider themselves "retailers" these days, don't they!

Queue up at Tesco's with the shopping and they have put the price of milk up whilst you have been in store wouldn't go down well with "customers".

Why should they take anyones bets if they don't want to?
...................................................... Why should they stick up prices they don't want to lay? Why not just keep the price lower, there are plenty mugs who'll take it anyway. Why should they apply ridiculous stake limits? Do they EVER limit stakes for ANYONE on FOBTs? ![]() |
|
By:
Perhaps Hills will introduce a new customer promotion whereby they will let valued customers change their stakes once the result is known? This is the firm carrying the name of a man who once layed a horse on-course up to his eyeballs to the point literally where he would have had to run away if it had won.
Good of Paulie to post this, but it has of course gone on forever. Anyone who wants to avail themselves of the price knows what to do. |
