Jimmy Kebe is better than johnson and jarvis but he is on 20k

100k for a player who has never really delivered, he might be the new kieran richardson

Citeh are desperately trying to comply with FFP so they're not in a strong negotiating position over price. They'll sell anyone who is surplus to first team requirements for a reasonable amount.

arrested, it looks as though the departure of Johnson will see the arrival of Sinclair.

Surely Jhnson would be the better of the two.

Were there issues i.e. dressing room or other internal problems with johnson

10m seems rather cheap.

has nothing to do with that, AJ had a chance of moves to other clubs but those wages made his mind up in minutes

The World has gone mad....

It is not the transfer fee but the wages and I just hope that Sunderland stay up because they seem to be over-paying their players and why...

The North-East is a fantastic place to live and they are not playing that card correctly....

greyhawk...He will be.

Maybe that is why the transfer fee is so "small" because Citey have to get him off their books.....

Sunderland do not pay £100k a week to anyone.

There is no way he is on 100k  a week Ibrahima .....He was on about 80 at City .

He developed a bit of a rep,  for thinking he was gods gift after he signed the five year deal at City,  but I'd imagine the fact he's a local lad and will be guaranteed to be playing every week made up his mind.

Only deluded Liverpool fans could think a player would only reject them because another club offered far more money.

Sunderland getting a lot of stick here... dont understand why

Sunderland have just signed a quality player for 10 - 12 million quid. The lad has loads of ability and wants to play first team football. What have sunderland done wrong here

Sunderland sold darren bent for 24 million, henderson for 20 million, got about 12 in total of gyan.

I make that 56 million.

14 million on fletcher, 12 on johnson, thats 26 million

So sunderland are 30 million quid in the green on there big transfers in the last couple of years. Yes theres a few million going out and few million coming in.. but over the last 2-3 years... Sunderland have took more money in than what they have spent..

Too many people on here dont know that much about Sunderland yet are quick to voice their opinions....

Will score a few goals, but had a reputation at City for being a bit of a lazy sod,and who did not put work in tracking back etc, good luck to him, would be good to see Sunderland do well this season

MoN will get the best out of him and by playing regularly in the premiership he will prosper.Much better than half a dozen wasters and cripples which has been the order of the day for too many years.

Johnson isn't on anywhere near £100kpw. I've mentioned it before, but my mate knows him and he's taken a massive wage cut to come here.

We have a strict wage budget anyway and it is heavily based on incentives and appearance fees - Darren Bent was on less than £40k basic but had his wages topped up with bonuses.

That speaks quality about Johnson that playing matters more, even better signing for me !

Boro sold Jinky for £7m plus add ons to Citeh - one of which was £1m when he played his first England game.

He's a decent player but has limitations - no right foot and he is not an accurate crosser. Also he plays best in short bursts. He is most dangerous playing on the right and cutting in, but any decent opposing mananger will know that. £10m is his right price imo
