Common misconception that they were just set-piece merchants in 2004, they were very counter attacking whilst solid defensively - with Charasteis(sp?) up front. Don't see any of that in this side.

Greeks are survivors, both on the football field and on the political bailout system.

Geramny look horrific, will trade above evens for sure

krauts too narrow there

reus must be shaggin low to be in this team 3 great chnces for him
By:
germanys defence is too poor
By:
greece will hit them on a counter attack or a set piece
By:
we'll see, i haven't bet on the match odds market btw, only on the bookings one where greece were bound to win ; )
By:
another massive chance for GREECE
By:
half chance at best, don't get carried away.

One notable feature of Greece in '04 was the fact they didn't sit deep to defend their 1-0 leads. King Otto had them streaming forward as much as possible. England take note.
They were always deep at 0-0 then scored on the break |
By:
the more greece come forward now the better. 1 less player to thread the killer pass through.
By:
lol, A mis-hit cross is a massive chance?
By:
Fs the nearest greek player didn't even follow the shot in, he was already running back and oblivious when the keeper spilled that shot.
By:
matter of time for the germans, 1-0 or 2-0 2nd half
By:
lowe will pay for changing the team here
By:
2004 Greeks would definitely have more attacking in the box. They played some neat passing at times as well.
This side nowhere near. |
By:
the stats suggested 0-0 ht was very lucky, seen it tipped in a few places. it's the second half germany will finally open them up, then it could be even 3-0
By:
any germany backers worrying yet?
By:
not lucky...likely
By:
Just looking at 2004 results, only scored more than 1 goal in one game. 2-1 against Portugal opening game.

Weren't that impressive in Group Stages either - with a inferior team now, comparisons can't be made. Will be a bigger turn up if Greece get result here I recon! France were the holders and favourites for that tournament and still had Barthez, Lizarazu, Zidane, Henry, Vieira, Gallas, Desailly, Thuram, Makalele, Pires etc. They won their group fairly comfortably, although had to rely on two late goals to beat England. The loss against Greece was a massive shock. Harsh to say it was a poor France. |

germanys defence is too poor
I must be watching another Germany v Greece game, don't think Germany have been involved in anything so one sided since they invaded Poland |
By:
Germany by far the better side here obviously. Greece have been lucky so far, so lucky that I have to trade out. Backed 1-1 and laid off 0-0 bet.

lol guinn1

it just wont go in ffs

greece hanging on by finger nails

Germany picking up again.
By:
thats because germany have had all the possession but everytime greece counter attack you can see how bad the germans defence is
By:
layed HT 0-1 at 19.5 for 20 profit, nothing else strikes me as a good bet at the moment
By:
stingy market, germany still at 1.37???
By:
I'd say they were on the slide, after a poor 02 WC. Maybe poor was a tad harsh, but not as formidable than they were in the 00' EC.

By:
Schurrle looks ****ing useless.

Greece counter attack = Samaras running into two or three Germans on his own.
