Didn't O'neill part with Villa on less than agreeable terms? I only ask as Lambert has been quoted at how he still calls O'Neill gaffer after their time at Celtic together and speaks to him regularly.

Songsforthedeaf.

Both teams about equal in terms of prestige i.m.o agree Villa have a weaker squad, but Learner is willing to spend if he gets the right man.

Sod Moyes we'd get him if we wanted but how many trophies as he won? Not good enough for Villa. Will be Rafa or AVB, or Capello.

As long as it's not Steve Bruce, I'd take Dr Jo back, The Chuckle Brothers, Lady Ga Ga, Charles Manson or the bloody Pope over McLeish.

Done some research and Poyet at 15-20 seems like a good bet.  Appears he's one of the few names in the real mix.  Word is they want a young up and comer type.  ITK claimer says Lambert been approached.

you can forget,

mcdermott, rodgers, poyet, lambert, martinez

just cant see any of them going there...

southgate, di canio, keane, di matteo, holloway or hughton seem more likely
By:

When: 14 May 12 19:36
di matteo and holloway futures still pending of course at their current clubs

Not saying he would be my first choice, but there is logic and reason for Neil Lennon to be the next Villa manager

Because the Chairman has a fondness for people that have managed in Glasgow and are ginger and unpopular?

Perhaps he was sounded out when he came down the other week to visit Stan Petrov? Where's his challenge at Celtic next season?

holloway would be amazing, as long as hes on match of the day next year i dont care what team hes with

moose, in europe...

also a fairly comfortable safety net without serious challengers for the title for the forseeable future...

as for a challenge, well i dont think they will come much bigger than villa at the moment...

think lennon would be crazy to take that on at the moment...

how about water smith and mccoist ???

I think it has been reported recently he would be open to move South for a job. I wouldn't under estimate the Petrov connection.

i think that would be a bad move for villa...

lennon would probably be as unpopular as mcleish

Villa fans must be high if they think they're gona get Paul Lambert.. He's building something at Norwich and loves it there he would only leave for a top 4 job, something in Germany or maybe celtic. Villa.. not a chance

Villa fans are so deluded ....reality check reqd .... only decent managaer that may be interested is Martinez(maybe this time) but I doubt that Randy gives any cash to boost the squad so who in their right mind would want it? It will be like the wolves job all over again.

I hope Martizez doesn't go to Villa.   He should stay at Wigan for at least one more season.  My suggestions would be:  Mick McCarthy, Steve Staunton, Phil Brown, Steve Bruce, Alan Curbishley, Chris Hutchings or Roy Keane.

Neil Lennon Laugh We got MON when everyone thought he was the best thing since sliced bread (before he was found out) a big name can't be ruled out. Lambert has practically been bending over asking Randy to do him up the arrse he'd take the job in an instant....but Randy maybe thinking big like when he paid 20+ million for Darren Bent nobody saw that coming..

Randy Lerner (Wiki)

Randolph D. Lerner (born February 21, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American entrepreneur and sports team owner. He has been the owner of the American football team, the Cleveland Browns, of the National Football League since October 2002, and the Chairman of Aston Villa Football Club of the English Premier League since 2006. His personal fortune was estimated at USD over 1.5 billion in 2008. However, following the plummet in value of his holdings abroad, his net worth dropped to less than 20 million in 2010.

Will the manager have to SELL to BUY  ??

K`R`O.  Cool
