What is his record in La Liga against Barcelona? And, for bonus points, how many threads were there claiming his supremacy after each of those humblings?

think if he wins champions league with madrid - therefore winning it with 3 different clubs he will go down as one of greatest ever

Martin O'Neil is the best by a country mile.
By:
yep, he's clearly the best manager currently working.
and will be back over here next season, imo. should be entertaining, one way and another. |
By:
won the top title in 4 [i think it is] countries, whether or not he wins his 3rd cl with a third differn't club he's still got to be regard4ed as the best.

1st best in the world is alex ferguson, then comes mourinho.
By:
I agree with trackman
By:
2nd best behind SAF
By:
agree fergie is very good, but to do it at differn't clubs like mourinho has is special.
By:
er SAf and aberdeen?
By:
By far the best.
Some mug posted on here recently that they couldn`t see the "special" in the the Special One. He won the Champions Leagze with a Portuguese team you mug. everywhere else he went won Cupss/titels. No-one has a record like that |
By:
SAF and aberdeen.........
or did that never happen mugs |
By:
i see fergies boys are out in force, it seems to me that the crux of this is that anywhere he goes he seems to have an immediate impact, and brings about improvement in the short term.and achieves great things.
whether he could sustain it over a long period like fergie i doubt we'll find out, cos he usually wears out his welcome after a while ![]() |

Jose is indeed special, but what makes Fergie the greatest is the fact that he has re-built teams time and again -- even coming back to see off Mourinho at Chelsea.
And Jose has made Madrid into a fantastic team, but I think their rise is also to do with a slight decline for Barca. Remember, Pellegrini got a record points total with Madrid (96 points) whilst they scored 102 goals only for Barca to get 99 points and win La Liga. Really, Jose has just continued where Pellegrini left off, whilst Barca have dropped down a bit and become more human. |

All, Dawsey is a closet chelsea fan...he said it on twitter a few weeks ago.

the difference is, if you took fergie and put him in charge of inter, no way would they win serie a, let alone the CL.

what the fark are u on about steve

he will become the greatest ever when he come to Man UTD and wind everything with them as well. Only jealous people can say he is not the best.

Mourinho is a great demagogy mass conductor, but talkin just about football he's a fraud, tonight Real Madrid did not create anything and he made the team defending in the second half just and Barsa had the game in his hands, it was just a matter of time for barsa to score the way Madrid was in the second half, a mistake after the goal and their great players have saved him but his idea was really bad and almost cost him the match.

In la liga there are only 2 teams who have quality head and shoulders above all others.
So really its a face-off between Mourinho and Guardiola because the rest dont have a hope of competing. In that face-off he has mostly come off 2nd best, tonight being an exception rather than the rule. Barca play total football, the type of football most purists claim to adore. When has a Mourinho managed team ever played like that? Guardiola is a product of the cruyff legacy, it is a different mentality completely. Personally I much prefer it. Not to mention the much more humble persona Guardiola projects and respect for others that Mourinho falls way short in. This is largely the same reason most people want to see Messi succeed and Christine fail. Just look what happens when things dont go Madrids way. Complete toys out of the pram meltdown, sendings off and loveable jose dumped into the stands, refusing to talk to the press. In the words of Shania Twain, that dont impress me much. |

ferkin 'ell elmaster
that's got to go down as one of the most fantastic posts in the history of bf it's so far off the mark it dosen't even register on the scale. or is it a wind up that i've failed to spot ? |
By:
i think he's just a bitter barca backer
By:
elmaster doesn't sound too happy
![]() not so sure you will see another team play "total football" a la Barca for a long time, but Madrid haven't been the boring scrape 1-0 team that other Jose teams have been accused of being prob already mentioned but it's hard to compare him to Fergie, Mourinho has been successful for a number of teams in a short space of time, Fergie has been at the same for 25 years and has created a number of winning teams. we won't find out if he could go all around Europe and perform the same now |

I think if he where to win the CL with Real he surely go's down as one of the greatest of all time. The thing is also he's young and surely will win alot more. Seems to be able to get the max out of players. Benezma was gone at the game till Mourinho got hold of him. Barca seemed to have droped a bit this year but that takes nothing away from Real. They have been ruthless this year and deserve to win the league.

I never back teams when they are so close any of them could win, and that's a coin in the air, doesn´t go with my way of working here, I'm just talkng as a football fan, and second half was in real danger for Madrid, Barsa scored cause Mourinho made the team go to defend with 10 man, and was amatter of time, Cristiano saved his ass cause barsa would have probaly scored another goal, thats my way of seeing it nothing else
By:
if he wins CL its beyond doubt

Red Nose saw off Jose though didn't he. Mourinho hasn't sustained his success anywhere for longer than 2 seasons. 3rd year at Chelsea, Fergie pegged him back and Utd won the title. Then Jose left part way through his fourth season as it all got a bit much for him.
