Happy Days Crystal .Must have been a years wages!
Odd to think of ITV taking an interest in Racing . Seems like the BBC aren't even going to bother next year. |

Back then Tobes, the ITV 7 was a mere prelude to the big event of the weekends sporting calendar - Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks bouncing each other off turnbuckles.
Great story by the way, Crystal. |

Correction - I had £300 going on the last horse.

Wished I'd have done more with the money - probably gave plenty back - but felt like a millionaire for months - became a bit of a celebrity in the factory.
Nearly got the same bet up a few weeks later - had the first 6 up and waiting on a big field handicap - commentator called my horse in the lead so kept my eye on it - lead all the way but the comentator changed the name in the last furlong - seems like there were 2 horses with similar colours. Would have been for £2k - smaller odds but bigger stake. Got about £60 for the consolation. |

I had £2.21p on Crianza at 1000-1 earlier last year I think it was. Funniest thing about it was, it was a mistake in my trading and I didn't realise until about 1 out that I'd made it when it was forging clear! With trading was about 5.5k green on it and desperately tried to lay some off ended up with about 4.9k on Crianza and 1k on all the other runners as it past the post. Couldn't believe my luck. Happy days

Catford dogs...it was a John Humphries night back in about 1982/83.Traps 1-5 got to the first bend in equal time according to the form. The only WIDE dog in trap six was a 3 legged mongrel with absolutely rubbish times before and didn't stand a chance according to the bookies.
My prediction that traps 1,2,3,4,5 would all fall over each other at that first bend came true and my 50/1 shot came round the outside and held on all the way to the finish....quality as I was only 15 or 16 at the time...I was hooked. |

100/1 Arsenal v Man Utd 4-2 correct scoreline about 8 years ago!

120/1 Charl Schwartzl was my biggest odds win too, was a guess to be honest and part of some £2 punts on the masters. Correct score markets have always offered my best returns though, I love a 3-1 scoreline.

Had a double on Arsenal to win Div 1 (16/1) and Chelsea to win Div 2 (6/1). Placed bet in 1988 at start of season. Stake was £1 and I was sh1tting myself collecting because I was not even old enough to bet and thought that they would ask for Id or something!
Had a large double of Mr Mulligan and Make a Stand at cheltenham in 1997 at odds of 20/1 and 7/1 respectively. Had numerous bets including one or both of these including one that came to in excess of 3000-1 and included a NR!!!!!!!!! Won a lot of money that day. Also Won £1019 with a £2ew fourfold. The great thing with this one is that I fished out 4 8-runner races and tried to nick £40 or so in place money to have a beer after work. They all won and it was hilairous in as much as I felt like I wasn't even trying for the win money!!! |

Fulham were cruising at 2-0 against OB earlier in the season in the Europa league and just as OB were lining up a free kick on the edge of Fulhams area I decided to lay Fulham at 1.02. They scored from the free kick and went on to get the equaliser with the last kick, or head if memory serves me right, of the game.

My first bet on betfair was about 3 years ago, didn't know a lot about horse racing but bet £10 on templegates tips from the sun lol, was a treble but i didn't like the look of the third horse so also did a double on the first two and to my surprise they all came in and total payout was £1400, can't remember the odds but was complete beginners luck.
