we've won the league at WHL twice - as many times as they haveLaugh

Sometimes you play bad and win.

Others you play good and lose.

Spurs were fortunate in a few games before xmas ( Fulham away springs to mind ) but they won and thats all that seemed to matter.

In recent games against Man utd and Everton they've done enough to get a point but the rub of the green hasnt been with them.

Agree Mr E. In the end, you finish where you deserve to.

The time to panic for Spurs would be if they draw with Stoke at home then lose to Chelsea.

3 points from your next 2 league games would be an sbsolute minimum target.

4 would be very good.

6 and top 4 is yours.

Not really eboue. Once Chelsea game behind them theyve got easy run in

Don't think we'll get 6, but I'm confident we'll beat Stoke. 4 points would do nicely, leaving us with:

Home games:
Swansea, Norwich, Blackburn, Fulham.

Away games:
Sunderland, Bolton, QPR, Villa.

Away games at Villa and sunderland arent easy Mav mate.

And games against teams battling for relegation are'nt either.

Ideally you want games against the mid table sides who have nothing to play for.

I'd rather play a Norwich or a Swansea than a Blackburn or a QPR.

Stupid statement maybe but I think it makes a little sense! Laugh

Of the last 8, sunderland is the only game that I don't think we'll win.

Overall, from the next 10 league games, I genuinely think we can get 7 wins. We're not playing that badly, Arsenal away aside.

real crunch time next week. Mr E is right. if we don't beat stoke alarm bells will start to ring. don't expect anything at the bridge.

chelsea at city the same night we play stoke so every chance a big gap will be restored. think you're at goodison.

will be a best of nerve going into the "easy" run it. we'll be behind arsenal going into the game against swansea on april 1 almost certainly.

In previous seasons you've had a couple of shockers at home at lost to the likes of Hull, Wigan and Stoke.

You absolutely cant lose at home to a team in the bottom half and to be fair bar the 2 Manchester teams you've been impressive at home.

We have a big game on Monday. Yes we are in our best form of the season but its not a forgone conclusion we win. Knowing us it'll be a horrid 1-1 draw!

Jasey, Barclays Premier League / Season Match Bets / Arsenal v Tottenham, 3k at Evens, based on your confidence above I assume you will snap this up?

i'd have villa away as one of the easiest away games in the division especially as we're playing them 2nd last game and they will have nothing on it at all and you couldn't ask for a friendlier last 4 homes . we need shooting if we don't win at least 3 of them.

We should be 1/3 now to finish above spurs

Spurs are still favs.

But remember they, like us, finished last season apaullingly.

They have by far the better fixtures aswell.

If they dont finish in the top 4 they should hang their heads in shame.

Yet my rather generous offer of Evens remains unmatched.  You can see why Arsenal supporters have such a terrible reputation.  Not one of tonight's loudmouths is prepared to back up his supposed opinion with a modest wager.

Many would gladly take this on if they didn't have to wait until May for the market to get settled.

May is less than two months away.    Arsenal fans afraid to put their money where their mouth is.   Memories of finishing fourth in a two horse race last season probably being one of the reasons.

Fear not Spurs, we will find a way to drop points against Newcastle.  Arsenal hype is peaking now.

Can't imagine anyone else in the PL this season has outplayed MU to the extent Spurs did for most of the match.

I hope so! I have a decent bet on Arsenal finishing in the top 4, I got 5 early in the season when we had that really bad run. Also have a decent bet on Spurs to not finish top 4, layed them at very short odds 1.2 ish. I reckon Arsenal are definitely going to finish 3rd and Chelsea look good for 4th, now they've got rid of their manager they'll probably go on a winning streak.

chelsea still have it all to do with their fixtures. they made hard work of beating 10 man stoke yesterday

You don't become a bad side overnight, Chelsea will improve and could even go the rest of the season unbeaten. They have Man City and then your lot, crucial games all round. My money's on Chelsea.
By:

i'd take spurs all day long to lose less games than chelsea from the last 10 games

high lander are you on the wind up ? chelsea to remain unbeaten for the rest of the season lol, the two running now are the two who were sacked by West Brom last year, they're enjoying the honeymoon period as all player do under a new manager, but they're not good enough top 4 will be how it stand now, with arsenal and tottenham swapping places

Chelsea have got to play AWAY - Arsenal, City and Liverpool and at HOME tottenham and newcastle, not easy.
By:
high_lander
When: 11 Mar 12 14:09
I'm not on the wind-up, I think Chelsea will hit the kind of form they are capable of. I think you forget this is the same Chelsea side that's won titles and got to European cup final.

spurs are massive favourites for one of the top 4 places - to be honest all the Arsenal fans on here who are banging on about Arsenal finishing above Spurs sound as stupid as those Spurs fans cracking 'mind the gap' jokes when they were 12 points ahead 4 games ago! Spurs will finish 3rd, Arsenal and Chelsea will be neck and neck for 4th (still would not rule out Newcastle especially if they can get something tomorrow). I'm afraid Liverpool are now out of the equation.

Good post HHG, can't believe the over confidence of some of the Arsenal fans, their team is always just one result away from their season derailing and the team imploding.. Spurs finish 3rd and it's going to go to the wire for the 4th spot...

no...spurs cannot be broken by anyone, were still in the title race, favourites for the fa cup and currently londons top club- compared to our lesser neighbours who's season once again finished early after being humiliated by ac milan- we doing alright Grin-

Newcastle have no chance of a top 4 place, they will be lucky to finish top 6, I actually think Sunderland might yet catch them.
