I dont agree that Cahill is overrated - Lets wait till he has played a few games at a top team (Chelsea) then decide.
Hes obviously not sh*t, but has only played in a bolton line up! |

Yes, and 2012 is related to 2014. Do you think we'll win the tournament with that team? No i don't. But to be honest i don't think we'll win the tournament regardless of who we pick, we're a long way behind the top countries. But if you're asking me do i think we'd have a better chance with an experienced centre back there as opposed to the likes of Smalling/Jones who aren't even 1st choice for their clubs, then yes i do. |

Something else to add right now, why is no-one picking Adam Johnson?
Hes got pace, skill and looks dangerous, I think Mancini has realised this and he is about to get a look in. |

By:
because he barely plays, if he did play maybe id pick him

Right then biscuit, so you don't think we'll win it.
So why play someone that won't be laying in 2014? Surely it's logical to begin building for the future, if we have barely any chance with our current best XI - wouldn't you agree? (we'll leave aside the fact that I don't even think Terry is in our best XI!) |

No i don't agree Jason.
If the FA made a statement that we were writing off the Euro's, they didn't matter and we were building a side for 2014, then yes by all means, go ahead and pick the kids. But, whilst i don't think we'll win the Euro's, you've still got to give yourselves the best possible chance and in my opinion our defence would be better with Terry in it, as opposed to 2 inexperienced youngsters who barely play for their club. Out of interest, if you're writing off the players who've tried and failed and you're building for 2014 why have you selected Cole and Gerrard in your side? |

You're entitled to your opinion, but defies logic. We have seen in other sports, and other footballing nations, that planning for the future works. Jumping from one tournament to another and trying to win with a team that we all know won't win seems like a flawed logic to me, particularly when there's the options of planning for 2014 by using an actual tournament. It's not like we're promoting the use of players who have just finished their GCSEs. We're talkig about players that are playing in the Premier League and Champions League. To answer your question, Cole is there because I still rate him as a brilliant left back, and I don't think we have any player capable of playing at that level at the moment, other than him. Gerrard - I have always rated him very highly. I think, were it not for Benitez shoving him out on the wing, he had the potential to be a truly world class centre midfielder, and I think he might well bring something to the players around him that others can't. |

I wonder if United fans are pinning too much hope on young Cleverly. He is a product of Bradford City FC and is therefore destined for the very top. |
