Is there anything more pathetic and nauseating then these muppets phoning up radio stations moaning about 'their team'. Rarely hear a scouse accent or a Mancunian accent probably because the cockney's are clogging up the airwaves.

Embarrassing.

Yes, there are gloryhunters in the capital - the south ,too - who support the likes of ManU , but these people are just a very small minority , hardly the norm ,so please spare us the generalisation that everyone down here supports northern teams   . In fact , while I'm here , for many of us , southerners who support northern clubs are the lowest of the low , the **** on your shoes.

And , freddiek , true cockneys are more likely to support Arsenal : it's closer to Bow Bells ( off Cheapside ).

The most annoying thing is when you're out somewhere and you see someone wearing the shirt of say United or Liverpool, and you know at that precise moment they're actually playing live on sky. So not only do these mugs not go to games, they don't even watch them when they're on tv!!

I'm from Salford but lived in Edgware in North London for a while.

The amount of southerners 'supporting' northern teams is ridiculous and laughable. I've lived in Newcastle and Sheffield as well as Manchester and you go to any of them places you NEVER see a football shirt from outside the local area. Worst you'll see is the odd Blackburn/Bolton shirt in Manchester.

Pretty sure Edgware is in Middlesex , pipunch.

And just how many would you call 'laughable'. I live south of the river - SE11 - and know many hundreds of people . Ok , I admit that a few of these  are Liverpool or ManU fans, but how many orginate from the south ? One , I think. Now , as for knowing  fans of London clubs ...

Again , following northern clubs in this part of the world is miles away from being  the norm.

NOT TRUE. Arsenal  originally from Woolwich (South London), when Cockneys were born within the sound of Bow bells, nearest were Leyton Orient(originally Clapton Orient)then Tottenham.

Have a wander round the Wigan Borough on Saturday whe the scousers play the mancs, the pubs will be packed from lunchtime.  Meanwhile down the road, the circus tent will be far from full whilst Wigan play Noblot.

I know plenty who go all over watching both clubs, who have Wigan accents but the pile of sh1tehawks in the orange house etc watching 'their' team in those replica tops...then cheering as Latics get beat, should be culled.

It's like the Industrial revolution and free movement of labour never happened!

I live in the Northern Home counties now. Is that close enough for me to be true Tottenham Fan?

Of course, when I lived in Liverpool and spent fortunes shttling up and down the country to see them play, I should really have given up altogether or supported Everpool....no wait, better still Tranmere or even Marine, to prove how hardcore I was.

I always respect who anybody supports, when they actually make the effort to go to the games, no matter where they are from.

Ranjit Agapooki from Croydon, supporting Manchester United (Has never heard of Old Trafford) and ringing up Talksport saying Sir Alex should be sacked doesn't cut it for me.

TBF anyone calling Talksport, 6-0-6 etc is a tacit admission of insanity.

I agree though. Machine-gunning is too good for some people.

My dad is Spurs, so that's the main reason I am. Was born in Leytonstone, so I suppose I should be Leyton Orient? Dunno, I never had a choice; it was pre-ordained. I'm like one of those religious fanatics.

when i was a wee snip of a lad  a lot of fans were crazy over manure and back then Liverpool - nowadyas they prefer speedway, darts, snooker etc - and occ pop to the local ground ,most went off football though as they approached 35,40 etc

some i know still take their kids to Colchester or Portman Road if they have a family deal on
