I very much doubt any of the last few posters have seen the lad play.

Its not his talent thats in question, its attitude and desire
Sir Alex gave up on him, if he was 'that' good Fergie would have found a way to turn him around.
Footy history is littered with brilliant kids who dont make it because they throw their careers away before they really begin.
If his attitude doesnt change, then the talent wont matter.

Honestly Fergie tried everything, I think after the conviction he was in last chance saloon, he was then nicked on assaulting his bird but she didn't press charges. This at a time when he was on probation. He is an idiot. The trouble followed him for years, when he was no more then 15-16 he was stopped in a car with two guns found in it. The M.E.N have had a Morrisson story for a year or so but have been warned by the legal eagles that they can't publish it. It's unlikely to be a good news story.

The lad has shown glimpses of his ability for years, while youth football is more available on TV compared to other generations he was head and shoulders above others at youth level. Magnificent dribbling and balance, two good feet and he seemed a step ahead of everyone. If he got his head together the sky is the limit West Ham and England could have a world class talent on their hands but that looks odds against at this point.

Glen Johnston stealing a toilet lid?

I don't think Nobby quite understands.

If you are seriously comparing a kid who has been nicked for assaulting his own girlfriend, nicked for witness intimidation and was even cautioned for assaulting his own mother to a guy who swapped one toilet seat for another then you're either on a wind up or just plain stupid.

Nicking a toilet seat from B&Q when you are on £20k a week is a pretty silly thing to do isn't it? But young people, especially poorly educated young people do silly things all the time.

If Morrison was 28 and committing violent acts I would be the first to condemn him.

Online article from Andy Gray below, note the bit about the buy black clause, if he loses some of his attitude then every chance Utd will take him back at some stage

I don’t know Ravel Morrison personally but I have read enough about him to know that he needs to sort himself out if he's going to make a success of his career.

I think Sir Alex Ferguson was right when he said that he is better off out of Manchester but the difficulty is you can take the boy out of Manchester but can you take Manchester out of the boy?

That will be his biggest problem but he has a good manager with him in Sam Allardyce and I think it is no surprise that he has ended up at West Ham.

Sir Alex and Sam are best mates and they have known each other for a long time so Sir Alex would have put him in a club where he knows he will get discipline and Big Sam will definitely give him that.

But ultimately it is up to the kid now and we will wait and see what Ravel decides to do.

From what I have heard he has immense talent for a young lad and if he wants to be a player then he will be a player and a good one at that.

But if he lets outside forces affect him then he might not be, but he won’t be the first talented youngster to fall by the wayside.

But Big Sam will be in his ear and telling him to knuckle down because if he wants to have a great career then he can have one because he has the skills.

But he cant have a great career and continue to be doing what he is doing as they just don’t go hand in hand.

I hope he can get his act together as there are too few youngsters with the talent that Ravel has but I think West Ham will help him develop as a player and as a man.

But Fergie isn’t stupid and he has included a clause in the contract that says if he is good enough then Manchester United have first option to buy him back so we will wait and see what happens.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about so i don't know why you're trying to argue the point.

But i'm in a good mood today so i'll help you out, here's what actually happened:

'The biggest one was the toilet seat,' he says. 'I was with a mate (Ben May ex-Millwall) who was doing up his bathroom and he wanted to buy a set where you get everything together. I'd never bought a bathroom like that in my life, and neither had he, so we banged it on the trolley. But we took out the toilet seat and got another one that had a slow-close lid so it wouldn't trap his kid's fingers.

What we didn't know was that it was £2.35 more than the one that should have been in the box. Then we went through the till, my mate paid for it and then this security guy stopped us and said he had been watching us on CCTV and seen us swapping the toilet seats.

'We just burst out laughing, thinking where's Jeremy Beadle. But he said, "No, this is serious, the police are on their way". We just looked at each other as if to say, "Are you winding us up?". But the police turn up. We're crying our eyes out laughing. The police are laughing. I said to the security guy, "Look mate, can we pay the £2.35?". He said, "No, this is a serious offence, blah, blah blah".

'So the police give us two options -either go to court and fight it out or pay the 70 quid on-the-spot fine. We couldn't be bothered going to court so we paid the fine but, doing that, it obviously made us look guilty and the next day it's everywhere that we've been caught shoplifting. But what sort of thief walks through the till and pays for his stuff? If I'm a thief I'm strapping it to my back and bolting it!'

So if you want to compare that laughable incident to young Ravel's catalogue of problems then good luck to you.

Nothing wrong with being barred from B & Q, I am myself

I was in there the other week in the garden DIY section when some bloke with an orange apron came up to me & said 'Do you want decking', I thought I'm not having that...

Johnsons was a seemingly isolated example of stupidity.

Morrisons behaviour is clearly career limiting.

There is no sensible comparison.

Nobby thinks it's ok to bash your mum and girlfriend up, to intimidate witnesses and drive around town with unlicensed firearms if your not 28 yet - the cheeky little scamp, but being with a friend and avoiding paying a £2.35 surcharge when buying a toilet seat for someone else either accidentally of deliberately is a henous crime.LaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaugh

You imply that as Morrison is not 28 you would not condone him committing violent acts. You also imply you are young and poorly educated.

Im led to believe there is no buy back clause.

The kid has talent but a terrible attitude.

Utd were prepared to work through his 'problems' hence his numerous chances. This season however he has clashed with coaches and regularly failed to turn up to training.

I was asking a simple question, i'd have expected him to have at least made their bench so wondered if he was injured. Their other deadline day signings have played.

If you don't know the answer to the question, don't post.

Ravel Morrison played his first game in claret and blue as he captained the West Ham United Development Squad to a 2-1 behind-closed-doors friendly win against Queens Park Rangers.

The deadline-day signing formed part of a strong starting XI for the Hammers that also included Guy Demel, George John, Gary O'Neil, Frederic Piquionne and Sam Baldock at Chadwell Heath on Friday.

Indeed, it was the experienced front two of Baldock and Piquionne who combined to give the home side the lead in the sixth minute. Baldock broke down the left and delivered a pinpoint cross for his strike partner head home firmly from six yards out.

Ian Hendon's side went on to have much the better of the first half but QPR fought back after the break and levelled the game with a stunning equaliser just past the hour mark. The Hammers sealed the win with four minutes to go, however, when a direct free-kick flew in from the edge of the area.

Morrison saw plenty of the ball in a central midfield role and he twice worked the visiting keeper with powerful drives from the edge of the area. Playing No7, the nineteen-year-old showed some neat touches and very nearly added a third goal at the death with a delicate chip that had to be turned over the bar.

Frank Nouble, playing in a wide midfield role, was also a constant thorn in the side of the Hoops' defence and came close to scoring on several occasions, most notably with a deflected effort that looped on to the bar with eight minutes to go.

At the other end, John looked solid throughout and behind him Marek Stech made three impressive saves, two of which came with a QPR player through one-on-one.

O'Neil partnered Morrison in central midfield before a planned half-time withdrawal for youngster Pelly Ruddock, while Demel showed plenty of promise going forward before being withdrawn in the 71st minute for Josh Siafa.

Fellow substitute Sebastian Lletget perhaps should have done better with a header when well placed. The closing stages of the match also saw youngsters Brian Montenegro and Taylor Miles enter the fray as the Hammers finished with a youthful side.

Hendon would have been delighted with the effort of his side during the win, with several first-team players getting valuable match time ahead of Tuesday's npower Championship trip to Blackpool.
