CR7 - he's only 20, how good do you expect him to be at that age? He's making his mark at the best club in the world and has just signed a new 4 year deal, obviously he's not the finished article but then who is at 20?

This player is worth more than Cesc imho. Would be beyond crazy if they got rid of him. I suspect they won't

Says who?
I know Wenger wants him as part of a deal but when and where did Guardiola say he didn't want him? He signed a 4 year deal last month.

I'm guessing the new long term contract they just rewarded him with.

'barca dont mind getting rid of him'

Confused last i heard Pep Guardiola views the Spain Under-21s international as an important part of his plans for the new season.

At no point has it been said they offered £30m + Thiago for Cesc.

Guardiola has said since last January that Thiago would be in the first team this season.

He's had a few good games and the forum is w@nking over him, no doubt they did the same when Dos Santos first came on the scene. If Bebe or another United youngster did what Thiago did tonight there would be no w@nking over him.

Welbeck scored a stunning goal against Sunderland a few years ago when he was a kid. No w@nking from the forum then... ABU..

Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara has expressed his delight with his contract extension and is eager to prove his worth in the 2011-12 campaign.
Thiago ended speculation over his future on Wednesday when he signed a new deal with the Catalan giants until the summer of 2015, despite supposed interest from clubs such as Roma and Villarreal.

He told the club's official website: "It's a dream to continue with this team and this club. I am really happy. Now It’s time to share it with my family. I never thought about leaving. I’ve always wanted to be here.
"The club has already done everything for me. They’ve trained me, I’ve come up through the youth ranks, they trusted me to play last season in the first team, and they offered to renew my contract. Now it’s up to me to prove that I can play for Barcelona and help the team to stay at the top."

Barcelona starlet Thiago Alcantara claims he could be tempted away from Camp Nou.

The highly-rated midfielder helped Spain's U21 side to European Championship glory on Saturday, with his spectacular 40-yard strike putting the seal on a 2-0 victory over Switzerland.

He can now turn his attention back to domestic action and a potentially pivotal 2011/12 campaign in Catalunya.

Although he is considered to be a top talent by the Barca coaching team, Thiago has been forced to bide his time on the bench for long periods since joining the first-team fold.

At just 20 years of age he has plenty of time to force his way through, but it remains to be seen whether he is prepared to be that patient.

Thiago does not hide the fact that he is ambitious and admits that he would be willing to leave Barca for the good of his career.

"I would be lying if I said that my dream is to succeed at Barca," he said.

"My dream is to succeed in football. I want to be a player who people remember for ever."

Thiago is the future, I'm a huge fan, cant believe the nonsense on this thread concerning myself, There was a rumour were Thiago was going to be used in the Cesc deal, Were he would go out on loan for a year to arsenal to sweeten the deal and I posted it, his father came out to rubbish these claims, I would love anyone to post a comment I made were I said I have contacts, I don't have contacts, I never have had contacts so stop posting crap to please your own comments, Apart from that, Top thread and it proves Pep was right all along when he said we have better players than Wilshire in our B team and I have no doubt you will be able to find comments on this forum were I said similar and I got shot down for it.
