The misadventures of Nile Ranger part 43 - at least this time the flashing blue lights weren't on a police car....
Soccer ace Nile Ranger was rushed to hospital with a horrific 12-inch gash to his arm after he fell during a night out.The Newcastle striker needed 21 stitches when he cut his upper arm on a metal shard as he climbed over a fence to retrieve a football. ![]() Friends ran to his aid after the accident near his home in Wood Green, North London. A pal said: “His arm was pouring blood. One of the lads wrapped his T-shirt around his arm but it was quickly soaked in blood. “It was a very nasty wound. It gave me the shivers. It was shocking.” Ranger, 21, was taken to North Middlesex Hospital by ambulance. Last night Ranger said: “I’ve just got to be thankful it wasn’t worse. The nurses were fantastic with me and I’d like to thank them for doing a great job stitching my arm back up. Hopefully I can invite them to a game and return the favour |

Tuesday sees what is expected to be a two or three day trial get underway at Newcastle Crown Court, when Nile Ranger answers a total of four charges.
The 21 year-old United striker, is charged with two counts of assault and and two of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on the same night in August 2011. Ranger is alleged to have clashed with two men in the Bigg Market area of Newcastle, which led to the ABH charges. The subsequent assault charges then arose from two police officers attempting to question him about the earlier incident. He denies all four charges. Since the alleged offences took place, Ranger has appeared in court accused of three other offences: admitting a charge of drunk and disorderly, admitting a breach of bail conditions imposed in connection with the assault charges and admitting drink-driving. He also landed himself with an FA fine after a comment he made on Twitter was deemed to be homophobic. Last word to the man himself (11 starts and 47 sub outings for NUFC, 3 goals), from his Twitter account: "NOBODY cares until you have MADE it" ex nufc.com |

NEWCASTLE United footballer Nile Ranger appeared at Newcastle Crown Court today but his trial was postponed until the autumn.
The Newcastle United striker had been due to stand trial this week. But his case has been adjourned until October to give barristers more time to review CCTV footage of the alleged incident, which happened in the centre of Newcastle on August 27 last year. Ranger denies assault. The 21-year-old, who lives in Forest Hall, North Tyneside, has been bailed until his next court date on thecondition that he doesn’t enter Newcastle's parking metre zone unless he is playing at St James' Park. |

Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger has been arrested and charged with criminal damage.
Police were called to a house in Enfield, north London, in the early hours of Sunday after a report of a disturbance. Scotland Yard said officers arrived at the scene to find the front door of the property badly damaged. Ranger, 21, was arrested at the scene and was taken to a north-east London police station. A force spokesman said Ranger, who has recently been on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley, would appear at Enfield Magistrates' Court later. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19697940 |

His defence is probably going to based on the fact he didn't mean to scare those present as his aim isn't the best and he was trying to hit the door three flats down the corridor, and he is counting on the testimony of 35000 St James Park regulars as defence witnesses to back this up.

Update: From the Enfield Independent, Monday:
Newcastle striker Nile Ranger is not allowed to enter Enfield following his criminal damage charge. The 21-year-old talent appeared at Enfield Magistrates today after a row with his ex girlfriend in Lancaster Road, Forty Hill, at approximately 6am yesterday. He was handed strict bail conditions and cannot contact his ex girlfriend – either directly or indirectly. Ranger will be allowed to enter Enfield only once - when he is escorted by a police officer to collect his car. The court also told him that he must sleep each night at his Newcastle home. Ranger, who was born in Wood Green, is due to appear at the same court on November 5 for a trial. |
