The answer is in motorsport,most probably in bike racing.There is an annual foot race up Ben Nevis,but must include some downhill gradients,so it's motorcycling for me,in Derbyshire,I think.

the answer is in motor sports.its called hill climb!
you can have motor bikes, cars, side cars etc but they must be road legal. you are timed against the clock.they have tracks throughout uk. |

my brother used to be champ in his class at harewood in yorkshire.that did have a few flat bits though.
