So Boro fans overall thoughts on January and today
First of all despite being disapointed at the loss of Johnson, i think its been a great effort from the club, with 7 signings coming in and just 1 going out In Barry Robson Willo Flood Chris Killeen Stephen McManus Kyle Naughton Scott McDonald Lee Miller Out Adam Johnson So far i havent been impressed with Killeen but have been with Flood, and i especially like the signing of Scotty, but well have to see how it goes with the others Whate everyones elses overall thoughts, are you pleased ? |

gary get this thread renamed
ffs ;) |
By:
lol :D
yeah it really should be Celtic Chat shouldnt it ;) |
By:
:)
By:
no boro fans about ?
By:
Things really taking shape well imo
All the celtic boys will bring much needed experience and fight and Miller comes with a reputation as a real handful. Johnson a loss of course but think overall boro had an excellent window |
By:
Totally agree, its so often that in this window especially boro disapoint us, but clearly they have made a real effort with these signings, whoever they may be from
i think any fans not happy want to take a look at themselves, we really should be all behind the team for a strong finish to the season, and then aslong as boro do their bit, with a better finish the fans should come back next season |
By:
A quality window, and much needed revamp to our side. This is not a league for a luxury player, and that is what Jinky is.
For me First Xi on Sat: Coyne McMahon Grounds Wheater Hoyte Flood O'Neill Robson Bennett McDonald Killen |
By:
naughton def has to start if you ask me
Id drop macmahon and move hoyte to right back. |
By:
Robson would be the best of those you got from Celtic , McDonald will score you goals and is a pain to defenders but a more moaning faced player i have yet to see barely celebrates a Celtic goal that he either didn't score or was a main part off a very very selfish player, Flood is a bit powder puff physically at least , McManus has gone downhill fast in the last 2 years and as for Killen well words fail me has a presence and thats about it !
By:
as i said Luna, i have not been impressed with Chris, tbh ive even been angry at how little effort he seems to put in, just my opinion anyway
to muffin man, i cant see bennett playing left win, chances are flood will probably go over there, with maybe O Neil coming on the right, who knows i guess |
By:
I think WGS likes what he's seen from Bennett so far. Agree Naughton may play RB eventually, but can't see what the back 4 has done wrong last two games.
As long as Arca isn't in the middle, maybe he could put Flood out wide if we extend Osbourne's loan, but I heard that Nakamura is still a possibility. |
By:
deadline over, cant signed anymore
hoyte cant continue on the left imo, he just cant kick with his left foot |
By:
Can still bring players in on loan gary
By:
You can on loan.
By:
Naka was class at Celtic thinks not really worked out for him at Espanol not getting his game , I just fear his legs have gone but one of the best players Celtic have had in the last 20years
By:
ah i didn t realise that was the case now
when is this until ? |
By:
He never celebrated a Celtic goal because he really was only there for the cash ;) any other team Mcdonald would be celebrating :)

GB & Co
We have sold Yeates and Shawky plus loaned Digard out.** Kitson, Folan and St Leger sent back from loans since early December. So 7 in and 8 out - however Shawky and Folan never played. **- Swap for Killen - Killen has a bit more presence both poorish McManus - St Leger SSL a bit better overall, MM more back bone but less skill. Naughton for Digard - Hopefuly Naughton will be fit more Miller for Yeates - similar effectiveness McDonald - Kitson - McDonald better goalscoring record Flood for Shawky - Flood better Robson for Johnson - will miss Johnson goals and creativity Similar position for me after all the changes, but the club has pocketed an extra £2m to £6m depends on the add ons in the Johnson deal. |
By:
Simliar position overall after all the dealings since early December, also same number have left as come in.
The club has made money on the deals overall. |
By:
Far stronger look about the squad now though.
By:
few more naughty players as well
By:
If we had Digard, Emnes, SSL and Alliadiere in at weekend plus Arca, I think we'd have lost at weekend going down to 10 men. 70pts is within our compass imo, and should be the target.
By:
Kyle Naughton excites the most out of all our signings, i watched him play a few times for Sheff Utd and he really impressed me, his pace was frightening.
Things haven't really worked out for him at Spurs, so i hope he has the hunger to do well for us and prove a point to Twitchy. He is also an adaptable player, which is a bonus for us. He can play right/left back/midfield which will give us more options. Shame about Johnson, but it was inevitable, but overall i'm happy with the window, i just hope these players gel quickly and march us into the play offs. |

Mido going to West Ham for a grand a week LMAO
I hate this **** even more now. |
By:
Thanks for paying £500,000 for Lee Milller!!
He's a 2 goal as season striker!! |
By:
How Steptoe/Gary/Analyst. Hope you're all keeping well. I've had a bit of a mare with the fixture list for this weekend's MNEPLT. The Sunderland game isn't until 20 Feb, so I've replaced it with Leicester v Scunthorpe. There's a revised deadline of 11:45 Sat too, as the Newcastle match kicks off early. Cheers :)

Alex
I didn't get online for the Friday game so left it last week and have probaly fallen behind now. I seem to be getting 75% of the results right on the competition, but never the exact result. I think the 3pts is too much for correct score as there is quite a luck element with correct score. Fingers crossed Scott McDonald can start tommorrow and maybe Arca. Playing 2 full backs in midfield was desperate at Ipswich. Loan window reopens tommorrow I hope Chesney does a bit of shopping. |
By:
Alright Analyst :)
yeah hope scotty can play, really looking forward to tommorow although i do hate Barnsley as they are a very didgy team Alex, thanks for letting us know, im the same in the comp, only had about 3 correct scores throughout yet im still near the top so my results have been good, nevermind i guess |
