1st time poster, i think this goes far far deeper than just looking at individual results!
If you look at the season so far as a whole then all that can be said is 'poor' Southgate, whilst a poor manager, did what he was asked to do....generate income from player sales and remove the bigger earners from the wage bill. Having achieved this, i really believe that the remaining squad would struggle in this league under any manager. Having said that, the arrogance with which Strachan arrived at the club (i don't need this job etc) was crass and disrespectful to the fans who DO NEED our club, which is the heartbeat of our community. The outlook now is bleak, and to be 5 pts off play-offs is a worry in itself. What chance have we got back in the premiership should the impossible happen. Right, i'm climbing down from my soapbox now and going for a game of poker! |

No strikers available for the Man City game - looks like we are playing a 16 and 17 year old upfront who have played a couple of games between them.
Good luck to the young ones - but the phrase man against boys has never been more apt. The 1.75 available for City seems an absolute gift and I took it all. |

2009 Review
well i think i can safely say its been the worst Year for Middlesbrough Football Club that i have seen in my lifetime, and im guessing pretty much one of the worst ever. At this point in 2008 i think we all went into the new year not only hopefully of premmiership footballin 2009/2010 but possibly aiming for a Top 10 finish, how we were all wrong, weve seen the going of Southgate and the coming of Strachan which i think we can again safely say hasnt exactly gone to plan. Overall 2009 has seen us Relegated from The Premiership and sat 11th in The Championship, its most certainly been a year to forget. so on the plus side.....2010 as D.R.E.A.M once said.....Things Can Only Get Better, GL for 2010 Boro fans :) |
