The Oaks form has to be suspect . If Desert Flower is a non stayer then the two that beat her can not be much cop as she was only beaten 4l after being given the office after a mile . The same argument holds if the ground beat her . My guess is that we overrated her and that means that the winner has to be on the bottom rung of the G1 ladder .
The Derby is probably not much better than The Oaks and The Dante form looks well and truly nailed to the deck for the time being . But , Royal Playwright did not run too badly in The Diomed . There is hope for him yet .
Calandagan is getting a slating in some quarters and his form figures do have a touch of the Mabsabrabkab about them but is the criticism just ?
There is room for doubt . His win at Ascot was on rattling fast ground and he was put on a pedestal for beating Space Legend .
Next time out he was beaten by City Of Troy and was said by some scribes to be better than the winner even though the eyes and form book say that he finished second .
Following that he is beaten in a messy race for the Champion Stakes .
Slowly away and the ground was soft but it did look iffy .
His run against Danon Decile can be excused says J Murtagh , his word is good enough for me .
And at Epsom he was produced at the right time but just failed . It has been a good weekend for front runners so maybe it is a little harsh to brand him a dog .
I think he is a 10f horse that was caught out by the Epsom 12f and he is worth one more chance when dropped back in trip . He might be a value bet as there could be plenty out to get him .

Impossible race to solve but one has been overlooked I think .

In The Tokyo my figures are incomplete but of those that I have Patrick McGettigan is top and I have not adjusted for his claim . His mount goes on heavy . As J Murtagh is here I would expect young Patrick to have some good advice on how to ride Epsom .

You can find a video of this filly on the Internet.  Matilda 2000 gns koln rennen 5 . She wins nicely on only her second start . The figure I get for her would make her a better filly than both Lake Victoria and Swelter if true . Her figure , like that for See The Fire , has to be eyed with suspicion but the time was very close to the track record . Racing Post comment says " below average event " which is what you would expect from that crowd .
One good judge from France says that she is the best in Europe and I think he could be correct .

Rashabar looks far too big a price to be a certain runner . E/w he looks a gift should he run as even Timeform has come round to the view that Camille Pissarro is very good . And , the Meehan colt goes on good or softer ground . His run against Jonquil looks to be as solid as a rock .
Chris Hayes would be a good rider for Windlord .

You would think that the figure for Waldora is tosh because Aventure won " with tons in hand " last time but the figures tell a different story .
