International Darts Open.
An Open means exactly that..any player can enter...apart from this one. So it's an Open in name only.

The Number 1 Spot - It's up for grabs.

I don't recall it ever being this close in a PDC season ever! Taylor ruled for countless years and in between Manley & Lloyd had a stint at the top spot. Then Goblin came along and dominated top spot. Did cross make it also? Now there's a new top spot rivalry so close on ranking points like i've never known before. In the past whoever became World Champion also became No1....I missed Gary Anderson out, and Adrian Lewis. Did they make it? Back to the current day... Gerwen Price and Peter Wright are so close in the rankings that the season is going to bring a new dynamic. slogging it out for top spot and when on song both are frighteningly good. Goblin must be hating it. Good! Wright recently nailed Goblin down a leg of 2 saying he's not very good now. This has a Bristow/Taylor confidence and arrogance stamped all over it. Then Wight did say he feels unbeatable as he morphs into Taylor optimism. It's gonna be a magnificent battle between these 2 giants of the darting world. Maybe PP will have a market for how many times the top spot changes come the start of the World Champs.

For the top spot battle alone I have dutched Price 11/2  & Wright 11/2 winning this event @ 9/4 as I fore see both putting everything in to win this weekend.

Good luck everyone...Six Flags here I come!

"Everyone fears me." Fantastic result and another loss for Goblin, this time to Danny who never once did.

Final: Price 8-4 Wright
Price 106.95 ave 106.74 Wright
Price 8/9 Checkouts 4/16 Wright

Quiz Question: "Scores for show, doubles for dough" as Wright squandered chance after chance. Which year did Bobby George come out with this legendary quote? For a bonus point where was the event?

Proper darts from Price and Wright. No bs boasting, just 2 players going at it. Plenty of laughs and smiles after the match and upmost respect between them both. Price gave the still number 1 finger as he retains his position as World Number 1.

Hi DnB,
Just watched a recording of the final on YT. Incredible standard. Amazing how these guys roll off 100+ averages for fun these days.

I remember that famous Bobby George quote but couldn't say where and when he first said it. Only thing is, I remember it as "Trebles for show..." but maybe that's the Mandela Effect, lol.
