I watched the breaking news clip this morning as the players appeared one by one.
Everything happened so fast then the screen clip went into a spiraling tunnel and
out of it emerged the new dartboard to be used at pdc events.
My eyes nearly popped out at the sight of the Winmau blade board.
From being used for decades by the BDO and now by the PDC.
I thought no chance using Winmau, although the best board on the market, more likely Target.
Is this another barrier broken down, though many pdc players are with Winmau.
As I recline on my sofa I can't help but ponder what would Olly say?

Michael Smith...Since a brilliant run to the world final he seems to have returned to old habits. This I can only put down to his attitude and inflated ego getting the better of him. The PL started exactly one month after the worlds final yet instead of looking full of confidence the lad looks shot. Before the PL players announcement he tweeted "pick me! Pick me!" Probably with tongue in cheek. Is he another Taylor type with little personality who doesn't know how to adapt to not getting things his own way?
Price...I'd have him winning this match but he's another player slowly out the box in the new season. Some terrific performances in the players champs with little reward. Only a matter of time before he drops to world number two.
Cullen odds against to see of baldie. Leaving tops and 10's to close matches is his achiles heel. 16's and 18's and it's in the bag. Back to back players champs titles last weekend is a magnificent achievement for a player who in the past was so unpredictable. From 100+ average to 80's. With Joe you just never knew.
Gerwen... "Everyone fears me" as he loses to another no mark. Take Menzies match at the weekend. The goblin was 4-2 up with Menzies available @ 18/1 in-play. Could I get on? No! 18/1 soon became 10/1. I got accepted @ 11/2. The b@stards. End result Goblin Lost 6-4. He is favourite tonight in name only and the bookies have milked him and made a fortune.
Wade...A player who plays the player not the board. Some matches he will do just enough to get over the line. A top player who'll happily win win 80's averages.
Clayton...the opening two weeks of the PL he's made the final where both times his performance level dropped. Seems to regularly hit the high 90's averages with ease match on match. He plays with a high intensity regardless of how his opponents play. I think he's built something into his game as a protective barrier which comes across as the sporting good guy and this is seen when opponents take out big finishes against him as he'll smile and fist pump them. The likes of Painter would have none of it if on the receiving end.
