Early thoughts - Klaasen, Gilding, Bunting, Jamie Lewis, VvV and Kyle Anderson of the non-seeded players.
Some good looking games there, all sessions look decent to be fair. |

Some notable absentees:
Mark Webster Wes Newton Ronnie Baxter Kevin Painter Dean Winstanley Paul Nicholson Christian Kist Richie Burnett All the above (besides Kist) are presently in the top 32...then again, apparently Richie didn't renew his tour-card which means he's disappeared from the rankings - did he jump or was he pushed? ![]() These 'personal reasons' we keep hearing about...is that anything to do with his bugling? I hate such euphemistic bollox! PS - I don't think Nicholson will be missed from this tournament but some of the others will be. |

By:
Think it's first in 20 that Baxter has missed and first in 17 that Muttley hasn't been there?

Fancied Taylor in this at a bigger price than he has previously been obviously - then I saw Mardle had tipped him too (and Michael Smith) - back to the drawing board I guess!

I need to get my fingers back into a routine of typing (boll.ocks), thus keep my mind active! |

Mardle outright selections:
Taylor to Win @ 4.3 and Back to Lay Michael Smith @ 44 Fair enough of betfair trying to be clever as ghost writers, but what's the lay back price? ![]() |
|
By:
Make that 7, I'm here too! And have backed Taylor outright, and topped up after reading Mardle's article,I fully agree with everything Mardle has written about him.
Tonight, I'm going with Klaasen, Huybrechts and a cheeky MvG lay. Benito ended his quest for 5 European tour events in a row about a month ago, who's to say he won't beat him again |

Toto - where's the Mardle article?

nobody wants to throw themselves headfirst at the very beginning of the tournament

I tried to lay Klaasen @ 1.07 when 5-0 but didn't get matched. Too greedy, would have had a trade
|
|
By:
lay Whitlock you mean?
|
|
By:
Yes sorry I meant Whitlock.

I think that's what you call setting your stall out. 108 average from Wright.
An actual comment from Harrington on Twitter |

yeah agreed with the match odds, but not with the smaller markets like high checkouts and 180 markets

When did Taylor last lose over a best of 25 legs or longer format (which this is from R2)?
As far as I can see his last loss over the long legs format was 16-14 to Steve Beaton at the Grand Slam of Darts QF 2010. |

Am I a bit mad fancying 'Shaggy' for an upset here? Or to at least go close.

if Lewis goes into 'slob mode' anything is possible. if he plays normal, should have too much for him
