Still crave an opportunity to play on the main stage at the UK Open. Health issues always been a problem to overcome, thus won't be entering q school in jan (£250.00 to enter). Plus the players are getting younger (and better) year on year, leaving the rest of us behind. I'm saving up for the Over 50's tour ![]() |

Diary of a piss head - hence the dnb moniker.
This was a typical week: (unless driving) Mon - local league darts (5 pints min) Tue - money comp or league ko comps (5 pints min) Wed - mixed league (5 pints min) Thu - super league (7 pints min) Fri - super six (10 pints min/all day) Sat - County or money comps (7 pints min/all day, plus bottle of baileys in a milkshake bottle) Sun - money comps (5 pints min/all day, plus bottle of baileys in a milkshake bottle) Played the occasional monday league in last 5 years, mainly playing weekly money comps most weekends. Drinking a bottle of baileys started by chance 10 years ago (on a flight to new york). Found it easy to guzzle down like milk for a fast fix (feck neat whiskey & voddy). Got totally consumed in drinking and playing darts for 30 years! Full english breakfast at home washed down with cans of lager at 7am, then on the oche for an hr with music on and supping more cans. Then meet up with fellow darts guzzlers and jump the train to money comps. Many a dart player will have a similar story of how much fun the social side of darts is. Imagine attending a party every week with your mates, getting pissed and laughing yer bollocks off. This is what it's like. Now i look at these same people like they've got a serious drinking problem, and i was one of them, probably worse. Been dry for 6 months ![]() Many a landlord cried salt tears (a nod to our Sid x) P.S. Naval will be staggering home in the next couple of hrs and probably looking in on here. He knows what it's like. ![]() |

A quick history search brought this up. (There's similar posts on the forum like this for other comps, but looks like a more detailed search is required).
