LOL A very bad athlete.
I'll have you know i haven't had a tipple since i marked all day. (I love it!) 7 pdpa markers and me! @ the Warwickshire Invitational. I got £30 for my troubles which paid for my food and drinks for the day! This came a week after my drunken exploits @ the UK Open. Colin Osborne beat pdc world youth runner up Rick Evans 6-5 legs, after Ricky led 5-2, maybe 5-3. Ozzy rode his luck from the 1/4's onwards, as he diced with the trap door several times. And yes, his lovely wife was there. Another lovely in attendance was Kim Huybrecht's lady cheering on her man. Unfortunately i never got to chat with her as i was marking on the opposite side of the venue. Kim played in the group of death, featuring 3 other pdc players, Nigel Heydon, Kevin Dowling, James Richardson, ex pdc Tony Randall, and 1 other. Randall and Dowling qualified through the group - Just like this post, it was a long winded (round robin format,) where all 7 legs counted. I only marked 130 legs throughout the day. Leaving the pro markers to do the on stage semi's & final ![]() Time to close up and get my head down. I'll be dreaming of darts and beer! P.S. Due to the hot conditions in the venue i'll be wearing a themed and rather loud cheap n nasty shirt tomorrow. Saving my Denis Ovens designed shirt for the big event on sunday. ![]() |

Today didn't go to plan. I left my bottle of baileys in the freezer. (A total disaster) as i was rushing to be ready on time). We arrived at the venue shortly before registration closed. Heydon got drawn out first on board 1, and i drew Dukes of Hazzard on board 4.
Dukes duly eased into a 3-0 lead, and showed no mercy to leave 16 after 12 darts in the 4th leg. My final hurrah being T20, T20, 20, before Jon closed out the match on D8 for a brilliant winning performance. Heydon won through 2 rounds before falling to fellow county colleague Noel Grant. Once both out, the driver deciding there was no point stopping, plus he wanted to get home. Not good news for me as i intended to have a chat with "mace the ace" as well as having pics with several pro players for the forum I guess i'll have to wait to try my luck tomorrow! P.S. Lewis looks big to beat mvg @ 5/2 |
