I know this is a bit left field and counter to all the opportunists weighing in...
But could it be that maybe he just wasnt as good as he thought he was?
Afterall, nobody is telling me his career wouldnt still have managed to find a way somehow

A real headscratcher how the 'institutionally racist' developed rashid into an England and Yorkie regular

Anyway, to sum up incase ppl draw their own conclusions as to my meaning.
I don’t know what happened to rafiq all I can do is review what’s reported.
What he alleges to have occurred and the mental trauma resulting would be inappropriate and whether they happened as he remembers or not they would very unlikely to happen now.
I am unsure what people an now MPs want Yorkshire CCC to do, they clearly have a view that some kind of sacrifice is required, essentially deciding some form of blood letting is needed beyond the actions already taken.
My personal view is they are making a scapegoat on information that is contested and has been judged not to have been quite as significant as rafiq recalls, why that is may only be known to those involved.
Times have clearly changed and resemble something me and I dare say others can no longer relate to, but then I don’t make the choices and thankfully for all concerned I have no part to play in this already decided future.
I hope the guy has found peace, unless I get referred to in comments that’s all I have to say on the subject.

If Michael Vaughan is thrown off the Cricket Gravy Train and we never hear from him again that would be too soon, worst sports broadcaster/pundit out there.

I did forget to say after reading all the reports on this case that I can honestly see how Rafiq would have felt alienated when out with teammates.
Drinking has always been a bawdy and rowdy affair and some poor c*** always cops for it and Id imagine as a non drinking muslim it could have been him.

When does something actually remain in the past?

It is hard to believe that at some time in the past there haven't been incidents of name calling at lots of cricket clubs. Are those now going to be raked up? Perhaps as a suitable punishment we should stop cricket at all those grounds?

This particular case gained more attention because Rafiq has stated he was close to suicide. How do you actually prove that? If things were that bad why was he at the club for 10 years? Surely anyone would have walked away if the abuse was that bad?

I predict that vaughn has already gone in today's unreal cancel culture wars. It seems the only chance we have to fight back is at the next general election.

This was why UK voted brexit, to stop all this scary finger pointing, which is always backed up by left wing media and marketing directors paranoid of losing market share.

there is one short term way that we can all fight back against this. dont buy nike and dont buy yorkshire tea and dont buy tetleys beer. we are not totally powerless...yet!

Not just in this sport but the way all this is being publicised the lefties won't be happy until there are all black sports teams.

And  with no recourse to the white population of this country.

Shortened words for people from different countries.
Finland=Fins
Scotland=scots
Sweden=Swedes
Turkey=Turks
Australia=Aussies
Pakistan=....Er, i'd be banned from here and probably get arrested by The WOKE Police.

No wonder more people are turning to the right.

If you claim not to know why P.a.k.i is offensive you are either stupid or a liar. Most likely you just want to be obnoxious.

It is not the word, the abbreviation. It is the implication and intention as most who claim it should not be offensive well know.

I heard Ritchie Benuad use it on tv while commentating. I though whoa Ritchie. His use of the word was completely  inoffensive but he knew the way most people use it is meant to cause offence. He back tracked nicely, quite calmly indicating he meant it in the same notion as the Aussies, Windies and Kiwis. It wasn’t a big deal and nobody could take any offence from the great man.

When people try and justify its use in the same way they are lying. Particularly if you are from this country you know what the word or rather the implications of using the word are and that makes you a LIAR.

Its not Pa*i that is offesive its the noun that always follows it
But just because the NF used those words in combination and because they also used Union Jacks and White Ensigns to signify patriotism then nobody is allowed any of those terms or symbols now irrespective of sentiment.

It is evidence of the tail wagging the dog.
