Maybe 25 minutes until the equation becomes one of when Kohl considers the declaration.

Can't see a declaration until England run rate is over 4 imo

Morning Ladies,
Been too nervous to post, sitting on a massive Engerland red and even massiver India green! Had the good sense to have a small draw green so after cleaning my revolver and selecting my finest malt I can now put away in the second drawer. Was really hoping to layoff some India green but it has been so stubborn. I would like India to bat England out of this match so I do not need top take out health insurance and then it will be a ribeye for me and a claret. Whilst not revelling in others misery I will celebrate my smugness. England at 30-3 after lunch would be cherry. |

That's all well and good, but how are you placed on the tie

unfortunately 4 Bumrah & Shami they are going to both be denied their hundreds in the interest of the team by their captain's now likely declaration

vaughan lambasting roots captaincy this morning

By:
totally agree with him about the field for Bumrah
|
|
By:
now about this long Indian tail...

Impossible to decipher Vaughan nowadays. He's so determined to say something that might make him go further as a commentator that even he doesn't know whether to believe the things he says.

Michael Vaughan
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special England's tactics have been ridiculous. It is easy sat up here, and captaincy is generally your own opinion, but it has been all over the place this morning. I can't get my head around the fact that England are bowling to Jasprit Bumrah, who averages three in Test match cricket, without a slip. Mark Wood was bowling 90mph and they don't have a slip. They had seven fielders on the boundary to Bumrah. That can't be right. You just bowl to hit the top of off stump and create a little bit of suspicion with your field to the tailenders, because they are not that good. Michael, tell us what you really think ![]() |

far from winning this match, can Eng now contrive to actually lose this match in 2 sessions?
I wouldn't entirely rule such a contingency out |
|
By:
Sky are also very critical of Root since Shami was out. Now he has dropped a catch! Draw back to 1.5! Will India declare and give it a go?
|
|
By:
Thought about the thai here but decided it against it and then the Windies game happened but it looks out of the question now. India do not need to declare in fact runs on the board may be a better idea as they can crowd the batsman in front as well as behind. Ground and pound. England will either panic or they won't. You don't take your foot off the neck imho. Even if this is a draw the psyche is important.
England have bowled badly all morning. Top of off is always the best place to bowl even if you throw in a FEW short ones or yorkers! Captaincy has been rubbish and Butler has not been great either behind the stumps. |

anyone who remembers Bigjoe from this forum can't help but have a little smile about this...he'll be creaming himself silly.....'huffing and puffing' indeed

Vaughan is a clown most of the time and also bears the mark of the curse of the commentator but sometimes he is spot on.

Michael Vaughan
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special My worry is that I would love to know the think tank of the team - how they went from getting Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma and then all of a sudden they thought 'lets spread the field'. They got emotionally attached with the bouncers and there was a bit of a confrontation. You've got to take that to one side when you are a playing high-level sport. You can't get attached and in that emotion. It was like schoolboy cricket. It is what happens in under-15 cricket - you get a bit riled because one of the opposition players has chirped your player. You storm out. Control your emotions and deliver your skill. |

Bowling at the stumps is always the best tactic and if it swings or spins so much the better. Where is Moeen?

wtf going on with the camera work...

Bigjoe is a blast from the past. Wasn't he the guy who couldn't get through a post without mentioning that Irfan Pathan was the WGA (world's greatest allrounder)?

Root scores 180 not out but looks to be finding a way to lose this, you can easily see them crumbling when put in

What makes you think that England could not bat for 10 hours on this pudding.
|
|
By:
Draw peaked at 9s barely an hour ago! I think Eng were odds-on, now 17!

yep the graphs show some serious carnage for short price backers
