does anyone know how long it takes to dry the outfield at Hamilton?
By:
Still raining, umps going to do an inspection at 5.15pm. It is getting lighter. Have to get started by 6pm otherwise its over for the day. Can go till 7pm if they do get before 6pm

cheers
By:
not raining hard at the moment but huge amount of water on covers that will take time to clear up.
By:
do you think they call stumps in 5 mins?
By:
sand based outfield so drains very well. Thats not the issue. Its how long to take to clean up water on covers.
By:
I am verbatim quoting comms here.
By:
ok
By:
Do I think stumps will be called? Think it is a 50/50 call at this stage
By:
I have my bets in place to hit when they announce.
By:
They will start early tomorrow to make up for lost time, but obviously not going to make up a whole session if it is called off.
By:
still a hell of a lot of yellow on the radar, but if that is rain or just dark clouds is anyones guess. If it is rain then no way they get back on tonight.

Juce, what is the draw price if no further play today?
By:
???
By:
not sure if it's priced in or not!
By:
As in what price do you think the draw will go to if there is no more play today?
By:
I am thinking maybe 2.60 but its hard to say by watching the market.

By:
ok see you in a few days!
By:
O I see, they are going to play 98 overs for the remainder of the match. Still plenty of time for a result. Though feel there may be more showers like today's in the offing in the coming days.

First thing a coach needs to do is read conditions. Why is it they see some grass and think 'bowl'?
The pitch can be green yet dry and hard. Don't they know this?? I reckon Woakes was brought in to strengthen the batting. If they knew Stokes would struggle he wouldn't have bowled at all. A spinner isn't just there to take wickets. He changes the tempo of the game. Men around the bat, give the batsmen something different to think about. He can bring wickets athe other end. I despair at the ignorance of this England side. No back up keeper. Only 3 of the top 7 have made a test hundred, yet JB leaves the tour. |
By:
seen quotes from woakes that they weren't expecting to roll over new zealand even after putting them in. bowling them out sub 250 an absolute if you're gonna accept batting last given the fragility of england's batting and if you don't think you're bowl them out for a low score surely you need the spinner for the 2nd inns ?
seems the word is they aren't that convinced about leach even then he's done alright so far and frankly is certainly a better batsman than archer and broad. looks like they might rush moeen ali back even though he virtually retired from test cricket in the summer and has no form at all to fall back on |
By:
Stokes dropped Watling on 31 off Leach. A pretty simple chance at slip. He doubled up as we know... Yet Leach gets the bullet.
How not to handle your players by J E Root. Root: “For Jonny you look at his talent, what he’s achieved and what he potentially could achieve in Test cricket and you think he’s got the capability to go on and make really big scores and be one of the best players in the world as a batter alone.” https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/nov/28/jonny-bairstow-best-test-batsmen-world-joe-root-england-cricket Yet Pope and Crawley are ahead of him?? |
