The crowd were immense as well, sounded like a football match, cricket does draw in the crowds and they are so loud at places like Leeds and Manchester its bonkers
![]() they must have been sloshed by the time we needed 30 odd and they've got something to remember forever, witnessed one of the best tests of all time And the crying Aussie bloke.... My dad just said "Oh my god pack it in you blubbering mess" ![]() ![]() |
By:
I've given up trying to predict these test matches, it must have flipped 4 times per test so far
I mean we went massive odds on at lunch only today, only to go 9 down and be probably 500? and ended up winning Just utterly bonkers |

i was blessed on tms , didnt have isha nor ebony on for the last hour or so, i pity anyone who had them on in the climax .

probably should have made Leech actually play the ball on off peg when he was on strike rather than the short stuff

Windies could better the 67 here

Stunning Test Match, and maybe the greatest Ashes Test ever played.
By:
different Aussie team coming with a middle order of Smith, Labu and Carey
still cant believe they haven't played Starc |
By:
I was wondering today if this was the worst aussie side to retain or win an ashes series in eng. Surely they must be right up there among the worst? Thank goodness the series is alive. Both teams are competing against each other trying to be the worst of the two. Aus really should have run away with the game in the third innings. They didnt and paid the price.
By:
What price was the biggest England traded?
In 1981 they famously traded 500/1 before some Aussies lumped on. |
By:
From the graph spike it was 34 or 36 but might only have been for pence. I got a few quid on at 32. For tens to hundreds you would have got matched in the upper 20s.
By:
Got to be one of the worst agree
Wade and Paine in the same team? two wicketkeepers, then there's Khawaja, Harris/Bancroft and Head Pattinson is an awful bowler as well, and before they had veg and fruit Siddle, the fact Starc hasn't played is a disgrace to be honest |

I had 10 bucks at 25.

How low did the draw get VV?
By:
In the Lanka test it was down to 40s.
By:
I got a fiver at 28
By:
@ alun You can get 1000 on Windies at 56/9 chasing over 300. Terrible value though.
@ DT Draw traded as low as the 100s after being 1,000,. I guess cos people mistook it for the Tie. I think the lowest it traded in the entire match was about 6-ish early on the first day. |
By:
Aus have a lot of questions to answer.
What's wrong with Warner? Has he got a decent opening partner? Who's Mathew wade? Or more importantly, where? Would Paine be in the team were he not the captain? Why no starc? I am assuming head or wade will go if Smith comes back. Meanwhile England have just one question to answer. Who will bail us out in the next game? And they have enough Matchwinners in their team to not bother about answering that question. Would love a comeback from Moeen, just for the fun. |

I had two euros on the draw at 630. Could have made a few bucks then :)
I am struggling to place bets while traveling. Had no access to betfair during the first few days which means I missed the 67 all out and hence saved myself a lot of trouble. Coz I'd have backed England at some point to go past 179. |
By:
Ke ae Roach doing a mini Ben Stokes.
By:
whoopps should only be 50/9
By:
To be said to "carry your bat" do you have to be the opener that faces the first ball
or can either opener claim the honour if they get to the end? |
By:
74/9 now. 4 sixes from Roach.
By:
Either opener I think. Both are openers. Opening pair. Opening partnership....
By:
oh my 365 must be wrong, thx det

What I find a real travesty is that matches like this are denied to the masses and their non-Sky telly boxes.
It's at least a generation now that haven't grown up with red ball cricket on regular TV. |

By:
all test matches in eng live on bbc, all 1 day int live on bbc, gillette cup/ benson hedges live on bbc2, and sunday afternoon jp league over 40 overs live on bbc , and every hour youd get the latest from all county champs matches on radio 2 then .

I hope this is some sort of blueprint on how to bat for the rest of the series.
Stokes had 3 off 70 at one point! That is how India beat Aus too, by grinding them down and waiting for them to tire |
