Not sure I agree you need raw pace in WI. Broad has been excellent and he’s not express. Neither are all the WI quicks. Holder is barely above medium pace. Doesn’t hurt to have one real speed merchant though.

I think with all the all round options we can carry an out and out quick who just bowls 10. Obviously it becomes a problem if Stokes can't bowl

In a 4 man attack with a spinner to boot, Wood doesn't have to do much work.

England's selection has been diabolical.

Amazing we haven't had a decent left arm seamer in my lifetime. Frank sidebottom was ok. The pakis have millions of them in their arsenal

In a four man attack? You mean five. But I’m not defending the selection. They’ve gone for a reasonably balanced attack this game but utterly shagged up the first test. I didn’t mind the side for the second. Jennings in for Foakes so that Bairstow could bat at 7 this game was indescribably bad though. What the actual f7ck were they thinking? It got what it deserved, with both doing dreadfully. England winning will not excuse such an abortionate piece of thinking.

Reported!

Obliquearse was decent although Prior was allergic to keeping to him, which made him look worse than he was. Currans may turn out okay but with no pace or bounce, he’s going to rely too much on swing and the left arm angle and the former isn’t always available in tests, especially away and the latter will get lined up. He needs to become a number 3 batsman.

If they keep him in because he scratches out a 50 here I will actually find a cat to kick and I like cats.

Jennings? Yep, except without any actual evidence that he could ever score any runs. Vince is bad but at least he can actually play the cover drive, it’s just that he plays it to length balls as well as half volleys. Jennings can’t even play the half volleys.

Yep. I don’t think Vince is a test batsman but he’s still streets ahead of Jennings.

No collapse here does not equal draw coming in, irritatingly.

Thing is FS, England will most probably win this match. Selectors will then think Bairstow at 7 was the right call!!

I think we should have left Bairstow at 3. Shocking that we dropped Foakes at all, let alone for Jennings. Bairstow isn’t an ideal fit for 3 but he did okay there and at least then you’re just looking for one or two top 3 players (depending on Burns, whose looking like a fixture despite not being that great so far).

Inj, I fear for the cat.

Similar position to mine, results wise, although I have a little more on England and a lot more on draw. Like a lot of my recent test wins, feels a bit like I should have extracted more out of it. Need the draw to re enter the equation to do so.

I got this test badly wrong as started to lay England again early in the WI innings.Got so fed up decided to cash out with an all round loss of £180 and actually feel better for having done so .

Wow!

from £256 all green to a £32 loss in what appeared to be seconds!

I think I am showing signs of maturity however to walk away with a negligible loss! Well done me!

Well done Wood the missing link. I know he has injury concerns but add Archer to the fray and we may have something. Strongly suggest Woakes and Curran concentrate on their batting, places available at 1,2 and 3. I don't think either are going to be kwality test bowlers although Woakes is probably not that far off. Both good understudy's for Stokes and shouldn't be in the starting XL although both good players who can add something.

Sorry to hear about your loss CS. But if its any comfort I did my nuts for 800 bucks the last test. I recovered that pretty quickly with some luck but i'd rather prefer not being in a position where I have to recover that much money.

Don't you think you are betting too much these days? You're almost doing every single game in all formats. I am sure you are staking much less in the limited formats but imo doing so much can cloud your thinking.

personally I didn't place a single bet on the BPL and only one bet on the BBL. I did do some Saffer ODIs coz I was bored but I'm so glad I've gotten rid of my need to just bet on every game that is on. It does help. I'm profitable since August and betting tests only is the reason for that.

As for this game, I knew Windies weren't to be trusted in a dead game. I layed England heavily in 1.4-1.5 range when they were batting. Then they collapsed and that's where I made most of my current 500 green. I then started backing Eng in increments up to 2.5 and then Moeen got those two wickets.

I did back draw at 42 yesterday but cashed out as I think Windies should stay second favorites because of the amount of time left in the game. Which means draw won't be coming in soon as we saw yesterday.

Oh and I did lose 160 on the runlines because I backed Eng scores from 300 to 475 worth 800 bucks in total overnight. Fortunately cashed out most of them. But there wasn't any liquidity and Butler's wicket killed my chances of cashing out further. Won't be doing that again I think.
