The difference between Wood and the other 2 is incredible.

He wasn't in the original squad. Foakes wasn't in the Sri Lanka squad..

Generally Wood is a poor gamble: v injury prone indeed; can’t sustain his pace through a day’s bowling and has an indifferent record.

Not sure I agree you need raw pace in WI. Broad has been excellent and he’s not express. Neither are all the WI quicks. Holder is barely above medium pace. Doesn’t hurt to have one real speed merchant though.

I don’t think they should have picked Wood but not going with Broad was atrocious although turned out not even to be the worst selection call this series. I think they expected swing so liked the idea of Currans but was very ill judged.
