With overnight trading Wisdom Of The Crowd becomes a factor. The market is not efficient right now but post stumps it will become more efficient so just watch and wait for it to do its thing....

I have no idea whether the draw will go out or come in....so I will wait for the Wisdom Of The Crowd to tell me.

I need plenty of kip coz we also have New Zealand Lanka which superficially looks like an absolute banker on NZ.

Yeah thats a lumpy lumpy job

I already lumped 1k at 1.44 and 0.5k at 1.36 so pretty healthy start to that test.

Am moderately big billy b0llocks this game, although doesn’t feel like I’ve quite maximised opportunities (not getting my big lays around 6 hit was a shame). Anyway:
£700 results £6k draw feels decent enough. Sadly lost £2k on the tosses in this game and the ODI. Anyone would think betting on a literal coin toss was a bit random. |

I saw the afternoon session and some of the evening. Very impressed by the Indian quicks. Bumrah especially was fantastic. Serious wheels.
Most balls are not hitting the stumps though, so they're bowling for catches behind the wicket. The spinner bowled a freakish ball to get rid of Harris. Spat off a length throat high. I think the Oz quicks will bowl a lot at the body and see if the Indians fancy it. Lyon should bowl well too. |
By:
It’s obviously done a fair bit at times but as is often the way, the wickets were mostly to bad shots. Finch missed a leg stump half volley that was quick sure and harder to pick up with Bumrah’s angle but still a half volley on leg. Three batsmen played bad cut shots, although extra bounce may have been implicated and Head just flayed one to third man with no control.
By:
Finch was beaten by pace. Serious pace. No blame to Harris or Usman who saw a chance to break the shackles.
What baffles me is that neither Kumar nor Jadeja got a game. India have a very one dimensional attack. |
By:
Have to question the Indian selection as the Umesh and Vihari got half the wickets but lifted the foot off the proverbial throat. I think Jadeja would have been better to keep the shape and plan. Also scratching my head how Bhuvi does not get in. I like Umesh a lot and he might ashley take some vital wickets and he bowled some good stuff too but he conceds runs that lift pressure and give confidence. Ashwin would have been a nightmare for the Aussies top six and would have kept things tight. Too early to make any real calls on selection as I think we could see some drama yet.
The whole game for me revolves around the pitch more than the players. It could be that it does indeed flatten out tomorrow! If that is the case India might be able to climb into this match. I was sorely tempted to take a small punt on them at 10.s and then a wicket fell. They did look like chasing 450 at that stage to be fair but if this Aussie side could bat so well and a couple of them did today then India could score quickly and place huge pressure on the third innings of this game. Runs on the board is winning at this stage but India need to get lucky with the pitch tomorrow and they could get into a winning position. It is a hard pitch to trust. India bowled a little short in all truth. It looked good but was less effective. Harris drove well off the front foot but the bounce was even then. Bumrah looks like the real deal. Others might get better hauls but he can haul India back into the match at any time and scare the bejesus out of any batsman. He bowled 145kmh in the last over. Aussie getting a taste of their own with India fighting fire with fire but maybe they should stick to worked out battle plans. If the wicket is bouncy pitch it up is my view! I want to take a speculative back of India but you just cannot when they are batting. Will look for signs of even bounce even if it is faster tomorrow which I think will ashley suit Indian batsmen. |

With that much grass I expect dents all over. Wouldn't want to bat last..

I was about even on the lay Aussie back the draw attempt (didn't help by not being awake for it). After that backed Aussies at 1.47 which is where I'm at now. Overnight I'll leave a back of Aussies up at 2.0 and a lay of draw at 5.0.
I agree with Injera about not wanting to bat last. |
By:
Not picking Jadeja seems like getting over excited by the grass, yes. He’s a steady bowler and if the pitch offers some help, which this was always likely to do given the cracks, he can be very effective. Also, he’s a gun fielder and a decent batsman. It just looks unbalanced to go with 4 right arm quicks.

I liked Kumble. He told it how it was and pushed some of these Indian Super Stars. Shastri is Kohli's man. He has no one to push against. Sometimes you need someone to tell you to stop being a whatever, stop picking your favourites and btw some of your tictacs suck. Can't see Shastri doing any of that. They also have had no real match practice on their last three tours.
The old adage is that if it seams it spins so even dumber not to play Jadeja who if nothing else could have tied an end down as is the battle plan on this Tour. Does anybody question the selection and does anybody answer those questions? The pitch situation is exciting. I could see a way for India to win this match I really can and at the same time I do not want to throw my money away. So I will have my TV on in the lounge but I will have to have the bed room TV on TMS on loud in the bedroom, that is what some of you are saying! |

I just don't think India can win from here. Australia have the perfect bowling attack for these conditions, with Lyon sure to be very effective, and the quicks loving the extra pace. The pace of the wicket will not suit the Indian batsman. I think a lay of India is huge value, as 300 is above par, and if they get over 350, it's all over.
By:
India hasn’t even given away 300 yet and has Kohli. I wouldn’t be rushing to lay above 5, although obviously it will turn out well most of the time.
By:
I will be looking for evidence the wicket has flattened out.
By:
Yesterday it was different. We can see a few cracks. It'll open up once the sun beats down. Batting won't be easy," reckons Sunil Gavaskar. Michael Vaughan too reiterates that it's good to be a bowler on this track, "There was uneven bounce yesterday and I expect that carry on."
By:
Cummins survived the new ball under pressure yesterday. Aussie tail could help them to 350 easily. And that would be a more than decent score imo.
