By the way the sky 'experts' Santa and Atherton were right about it being a good batting surface.

Mad as he'll here!
Just about England at 4 to cover my liability on them and the phone rings, distracts me and a wicket goes down! Got a big green India, big red draw and medium small red England Did most of my betting in the second 20 mins India 3.35, draw 5.8 and Eng lay at 2.04 all very good till that bloody phone call but moved my England red onto the draw and increased India green Good position, can't see draw. Ball will continue to swing, hard ball for Pant, pitch is dry but faster and more zip tomorrow |

Swann is a clown at times but was spot on today. He was on radio about 11.20 He said it was a good pitch and a dry pitch. He said if was a bar first pitch. It may have looked brown but it was dry.
I think India are in a very strong position here. Tomorrow morning could be huge if India get runs. If England get wickets it will be almost as bad as the ball will be moving and they will be batting. Could be another 30/3 situation. I can't see the draw with so much cloud around but the pitch will bat well tomorrow if there are not too many clouds. I think it should start spinning certainly Day 4 if not earlier. England under the pump for me |

I'm in a very similar position to the last test match after day 1.
If I chainsaw this one I will be seething! Looks like it will be a bowling day so may look to back Eng and then back India when they bowl. |

You heard it here first DT!
No point flogging thoroughbreds like those two imho. Plenty of young guns wishing to be flogged to death in the great Sri Lankan bake off that is Galle! Two military mediums say Woakes as numerous uno and Curran with Stokes and there spinners, Moen, Rashid and say Leach. Rashid gets some help and may even bowl us to an unlikely win with a good toss. Take Bess along for the ride. Job done |

Thing is, while there’s a lot of international cricket, just playing tests means Anderson’s and Broad are hardly overworkded. Take them along and alternate them if they really need to rest.

Bored!
Mrs 'Death is driving me nuts. She gets annoyed when I ask questions when we are watching Real Hiusewives of New York City! This us not looking good for England. Do we have any people in the East Midlands? We need cloud cover updates! |
|
By:
I don’t fancy England’s position much, no. Give away many more runs and that’s got to be bad but if the ball does plenty and they rattle India, the cloud will have to lift at just the right time for conditions not be equally difficult for England. I don’t rate the Indian attack as on a par with England’s but it’s not bad and our batting definitely is, especially the openers. I’m quite tempted by an England lay for a chunk but I’m already £6k draw after my failed backs mid 4s just before close for only £400 result green so could end up quite exposed.

be surprised if stokes tours sri lanka.

I don't think stokes will be available for selection

I try to judge a score by how many poor dismissals there are. I think Pujara's was the only wicket given to England. The rest were earnt.
Therefore I reckon 300-6 is quite a handy score. |
|
By:
yep. critical session session this. 335 all out and it'll may be a very close match. 380+ and england are going to have to play very well to save it.
|
|
By:
Eng will be up against it even at 335. They are due a loss.
|
|
By:
Got to be alive to the situation day 2
|
|
By:
I am going to lay England with my remains match Stake but mat waif till they get Pant. I will take advantage if England shorten as I am less exposed to England than the draw
|
|
By:
Or maybe just back India as the draw will Shirley sort itself out with the loss of wickets!
|
|
By:
I’ve had a horrible looking last few bets: backs of draw before close yesterday at 4.3 or so, then wickets; more draw backs since 5.5 at close (although did manage to trade out that) low 5s then 5.6 and a lay of England at 2.78. Hopeful I’ll get some value out of them but they all look bad right now.

engerland in all kinds of trouble here!

where is AYTTT

By:
Broad way off here. Get him off.
Captains should be far more ruthless with him. 4 overs to find it, if he doesn't, replace him. Devastating when it clicks but rarely finds it mid spell. |

Got taking back trades on Eng at every price from where it is now to 5.2

By:
Sold my draw off a bit cheaply again but really can’t complain. I think England in quite a bit of trouble here, although it’s not doing loads, so some hope they could score some runs.

Irritating, especially as I was trying to play a tick nicking game after I got a lay at 4.1 matched. Take more on?

Runs on board young man, lights are warming the moist air up nicely thank you! |

Don’t really know why I took 5.3s. Knew it had further to go. Left me just £5 England green!

Should have caught that really
