I'm standing still on the day now...........which is not good, but overall I'm still nicely placed. Trouble now is opportunities for trading will be limited from here until Lanka bat again.

Unless we have a catastrophic WI innings which cannot be ruled out. You know 135 all out type of thing.

@ Charlie
Not quite - say your normal bet size is £128. So if you bet half (£64) at evens (1:1) then at 3.0 {i.e. 2:1) you only need to bet half of the remaining £64, ie. £32, to increase your possible win by the same amount as your first bet. At a further rise to 5.0 (i.e. 4:1) you only need to bet £16, then £8, £4, £2. Adding these up means your total bet is slightly less than £128, the "full" bet size, and your maximum win size after the first top-up is equal to or greater than if you'd bet the full £128 at evens, plus you have all sorts of trading possibilities added in. The opportunity cost of this strategy is that if your market timing is very good then many of your bets will only win you half as much and any losing trains will cost you up to a full bet. |

That woeful Lanka knock has vandalised the match odds market, I'm furious with them. All openings have closed (for now)
|
|
By:
And I'm not totally sure it was straight either.

I get what you're saying but what do you mean by a "full" bet size? I honestly don't know what this means. Take the example where I've bet, say, £100 at kick-off on team batting first and there's a wicket. Odds go up so I back again at £100. What's the full size bet? Your original post was on about odds-on shots if this makes any difference. |
|
By:
Just to elaborate a bit more if there was another wicket and odds have gone up then I would back another £100. If the odds go down then I'd think about laying off.

No ball wicket!

So 36 year old Devon Smith has not improved his average of 24 in his 39th test

I still don't get the starting and ending time.
It starts at 3pm. Does it end at 10? Do they get 30 more min or 60? |
|
By:
They finished 10.00pm (uk time) last 2 days but that was with extra time added on I think so might be 10.30pm tonight.
|
|
By:
I thought they finished at 11pm yesterday? and that too for bad light? Probably that's why i'm confused.
|
|
By:
yes I meant 11.00pm (typing error)
|
|
By:
Well, I have managed to trade between 1.27 and 1.3 as well as draw 5.9 and 5.4.

I am trying to back lanka. Missed 34 by a whisker. Looking for 30 again.
I think Windies will have to declare at a chasable score and no matter how ridiculous that might be to chase, SL will be in the teens to chase it down. This is also why their price isn't breaking the 30 barrier. Just my thinking. |

I got my 250 Euro bet at 5.6 matched.
