I've also stuffed this game up - awake for the wrong one and topped up on England with wickets and only managed to trade the Aus price going up the once, hitting a 2.16 a bit although not very hard because it felt like England should have been big favourites only 2 down pretty much at a run a ball.

Laid 1250 off Australia.  Looking for a wicket or a few slow overs.  Smith struggling, Stoinis slowed right down.  Scoring get tougher from here I think, and Aus look to slow it down a bit may get themselves into trouble.
See how we go.

Ha, double spaced.  Was saying well done and that I was just losing a grand quietly here unless England manages to come back strongly.  Not sure whether getting Smith helps or hinders, really.  How has he been so bad in the ODIs, having looked so much better than God on a sunny day in the tests?

Good line.

Well Aus are about 14 runs behind, and a wicket.  This is where England really struggled with the softer balls.

re Smith - Don't think he's a naturally quick scorer, his white ball record very average compared to his test record

He's quick enough in tests but he doesn't seem to have a game for ODIs, no.  Root isn't as good in LOI either but there's a lot smaller a disparity.

You Alan Beresford!

Anyone following the tennis?  I quite upset some guy on the tennis forum who turns out to be an absurd anti Federer ranter by telling him he was talking rubbish.  He blocked me for being a passive aggressive troll! I'm really looking forward to Fed's 20th.

Some catch.

It's far from the most amazing Aussie batting line up, is it?

Thought it was hilarious!  Funny thing is he blocked me for trolling other people, not even him.  Even worse he got me for doing it on the politics forum, where if I am a troll, I'm about 1/10000 as much a troll as the average! Have you seen the politics forum?

This is mostly on him now, yes.  He'll have to consolidate for a bit if they bowl well at him too, so the rate could go up for a bit, although obviously Maxwell has the range to make even a steep asking rate look easy but Paine certainly doesn't.

I've given it up because while I like pointing out deficient analysis, there's so little sensible conversation on there that it's good for next to nothing else.

Yeah, jucel, I'm not really against blocking trolls but wow, all I did was tell the guy he was full of ad hominems and special pleading and relatively short of good arguments.  Funny thing is that he wasn't totally incapable of arguing a case either, although the whole Nadal is better than Federer because of head to head (mostly on clay) narrative is a pretty thin one to hold together against all those records, especially in slams.  Don't get me wrong, Nadal is an amazing player himself and the best ever on clay by streets and streets but take clay away and he's just a plausibly decent member of the best few tennis players in the last few decades, whereas Federer is close to being the greatest ever even taking away grass.

Yeah, Aus very short for me, given that it's a keeper who's an indifferent batsman and then some bowlers, none of whom are that great with the bat.  I'm not laying them again though - don't feel that strongly.
