They could have won it easily. Pujara two run outs last test plus soft dismissals and dropped catches. SA lucky.

and they should have played Rahane instead of Sharma from the first match!

Ahh come on FS, bravery is all part of the game and they're wearing armour! All he had to do was shuffle forward. Vern's got play with a straight batted push through the offside. It's like watching England!

You're right but you have to recognise that tailenders, even competent ones, aren't batsmen.

SA also got very short when India lost those 2 early wickets in the first innings of the match.

Think a bit much to say India the better team whole series. There were patches of very good cricket from them in the first couple of tests but some real junk too, especially in selection.  I think SA deserved the series win, just about.

India weren't outplayed in any of the matches of the series(at least my impression not having followed the series). That in itself is a big credit to Kohli who is on a mission to win abroad.

I won't really say it was one of the worst collapses. This was always going to happen on a pitch like this.

Was not expecting an Indian win despite predicting one side or the other collapsing.

Well done India.

Hello Terry,

I was working Saturday ( Yes T3, I know Supermarket shelves need filling! ).

I don't know whether to laugh or cry...I think I lost thousands but on the plus side I won an amount with a comma in it for the first time in months!

It was a big mistake not to watch the game. I did not plan to get heavily involved as India were clearly under cooked and unreliable. That said they looked like they had a win in them from the end of day 1.

History was against them as no side had scored as little as 187 first up and gone on to win. History is important. Igot on at 10's for small stakes and had a healthy average of 8.87  As the game progressed this came down to the 3's. I thought I made some prudent and intelligent bets. What I shoulda done was smmash it at 10's but confidence and balance were relatively low.

I think I must have toppped up during day 3 and had a Christmas present of a draw lay at 3.08 reducing my SA exposure significantly. They are dangerous and gritty at home, courageous would be a better word namely Elgar, FAF and Amla and with some magic ABV and QDK

I did think history was on my side though. 240+ was going to be insane. I kept abreast on the phone but was not unduly concerned even at 112-1. I knew a wicket would open the gates of hell.

My regret was not laying SA at 1.10 which was available. Big mistake. I think a 5 figure win was there for the taking with protection! Wickets were always going to fall and India price would come back even if they did not win.

Still a win is a win and a win with a comma is a steak and chips night! Although I had Sushi and did not tell Mrs 'Death.

India have many questions to answer

Kohli is too powerful.

They were under cooked and should have played more cricket in SA. They gave away the series. They were evenly matched but gave away the initiative.

I was wrong about the 4 fast bowlers for India as they all contributed significantly. Pandya was superfluous with 4 fast bowlers. Ashwin should have played. Pandya could still play a part with 3 fast bowlers and Ashwin.

India need to look at wicket keeping options. Pant and Samson must be considered and given a chance.

Rahane is better than Rohit. End off discussion.

Rahul and Vijay should not be under pressure to score quickly.

The batting picks itself now. The bowling needs some balance. They have 5 decent fast bowlers and should play 3 at any one time, maybe 4 on the odd occasion. if they do they don't need another fast bowler in Pandya!

Really looking forward to the visit of Aussie.

Battle Royal on the high veld!

I think SA come out on top. Their batsmen have home advantage, are tougher and when there is no action off the pitch will be able to deal with the Aussoe bowlers better than the Aussie batsmen will deal with 3 or 4 140kph plus!

Aussie batting is collapsable. This will be a severe test for them but they are still a goodish side and betting opportunities may avail. Looking forward to March then April IPL!
