As previously noted, batting under lights will likely determine who wins and could be a leveller in the match. Eng bowled well under lights in the warm up.
I was expecting Eng to be rather bigger than the current 3.8. I'd back them up toward 6, but thats a long way off.

Depending on his fitness I might keep Wood back for Perth but if he was remotely interested I would play him on Saturday and play an extra batsman...except we haven't got one. We have Ballance! Bizarrely the ECB are not punishing him and that's what makes it harder to fathom. They've only said he won't as yet be joining the team. Why can't they just get him in the team and if he has to fly home Plod will just have to wait till the Test finishes! |

Theyve got to get Stokes in, because Ball or Overton just dont have the skill on these pitches, and we need someone with a bit of bite in him, something else lacking from our current set up. From a betting perspective this is good, but despite the money I dont want our lads getting another hiding in Australia, 2 5-0s in the past 3 series down there, lets not make it 3 in 4

pink ball daynighters has totally changed the character of adelaide tests. had 11 tests in a row there was at least one 500+ score previously. 300 a very good score now i would say

its tricky, i'm pretty sure the draw will trade lower but i'm tempted to just lay it pre match, you're not going to get rich but its pretty safe. having said that the west indies just got skittled and the draw traded at 4!

i wont lay it at 7's as it not good for the blood pressure,will try and watch it,so will look for the chance to get involved although the draw lay and walk the do is my shout if i had to choose now

With the rain there has been, we may get a day 1 Gabba pitch for 2 sessions. Might see the draw at 5.

england's batting wasn't too bad at the gabba it's the back up bowling simply has to be better. hard to believe they can win without a significant contribution from either woakes or ball/overton. anderson and broad can't be expected to do it all on their own

I think you need really flat wickets for day/night test matches. There is more than enough help in the evening session, as the new ball swing transcends the pitch
