Closing depends on match situation but is always tricky to get right.
Batting collapses are an unfortunate part of the risk backing the team first up. Swearing helps with that. If the collapse isn't dramatic, say around 130, I generally watch a few overs of the second innings to try and see if it was the pitch or just bad batting. If bad batting I'll generally swap sides - but it's expensive if you lose! When I lost on RCB I didn't wait to see any second innings overs and backed RCB far too short at the end of first innings. |
