I got a draw lay at 1.65 for £500 earlier but missed my 1.58, which it touched before they agreed this declaration bowling farce.  I wish I'd got on the draw at 4.5 though as it could easily enough end up being a chase with wickets falling enough that Yorks really can't do more than bat it out.  Perhaps Middlesex will then bowl declaration stuff themselves or at least put absolutely everyone in catching and hope for wickets and 4s.

Thats a good point FS, middlesex might have to gift Yorks some runs to keep em in the game

This is already a tough chase, another 6 overs and it'll be out of reach.

There's a feeling that Yorks will go hard the whole way. They won't. This isn't tiddliwinks.

They will try and win but pull out if gets dodgy.

but as FS says, if it looks like Yorks are pulling out of the chase, Middx can gift them some runs to incentivise them again

As I say, you can do a bit of both by just sticking every single fielder in a catching position.

I see quite a bit more volatility in this game, including over the declaration but problem is, I don't think the current prices are all that far wrong.  May try to get some draw at 4.2 or so and wait with some green.  What will they set?  About 275 off 35 if they get tea in at the changeover?

That's assuming Franklin is that brave or inspired. I would say captains are pretty hopeless at this sort of thing.

Point taken but surely someone on one side or the other will think of it.  If they're prepared to do this, it's hardly as if they'll regard sticking in 5 slips, 2 gullys a short leg and a silly mid off as against the spirit of cricket.

Gutted I didn't take a braver stand with my draw lay earlier on.  I didn't particularly expect this level of collusion though, saw it more being along the lines of 200 in 25 overs.

I reckon the draw should be odds on.

Very tough chase. Finn, Roland-Jones and Murtagh with a new ball on a day 4 pitch.
