There's a good chance they get little or no play here over the next few days. Field of play is a swimming pool. 1.43 on draw is likely huuuge!

More than the weather, its the groundstaff that bothers me. If it rains in-play, we can forget that they'll be back on soon. If it rains hard, the day's over! No super sopper ffs!

Weather is an issue but even with the bad weather India should have a big enough lead by lunch on day 4.
Kohli has it in his eyes atm to get top spot, you could see it in the last test and to be able to take it away from Pak makes it even sweeter. Anyone backing the draw now at 1.45 with 12 sessions left needs their head reading. 1 bad session and it's game over as we have all just seen in the last few tests. I would be topping up but 1.2 red is more than enough. |

Lots of rain forecast - they can't deal with any of it. Highly unlikely they'll get out on time tomorrow if there's no more rain. Backing 1.46 incredibly smart.

More about the outfield than rain. Water table high. Might genuinely not get much more than 80 overs in entire time left.

Outfield is of more concern tbh. Adam Peaty could have won another gold in that today.
I've backed India at avg of 2.88 but would still be happy to see a bit of rain before start of play tomorrow as the market will overreact and could see the draw at around 1.2ish by lunch. Underground going big %s on rain tomorrow but only giving 4mm. They always ramp it up. Not sure what they give today though? |

Consider this:
It rained Wednesday evening and they had to start half an hour late thursday morning! That's about 16 hours of time to get the ground ready! They didn't manage it. It rained today and they called off at 2pm!!!!! How heavy the rain has to be and how poor the groundstaff that they cancel the day's play halfway into the day! I have seen fields turned into swimming pools and still managing a game. I know Kohli would always push for a result, like we saw in alst game. The incentive here is too sweet to ignore. And the implications of the draw quite bitter. But if a ground doesn't have super sopper, how do they expect play? I thought every ground in the world had a super sopper! Backing draw from here on may not be the smartest move. I envy those who didn't take any position in this game. This test is gonna mess up a lot of people, thats what i feel. I'll run away with a manageable loss as soon as i can. |

Yes its Friday. Im saying it stopped raining wednesday evening and they had 16 hours to get the field ready for thursday morning, which they couldn't. We are not betting on the weather here. We are betting on the groundsmen' ability. And I don't have any confidence in that. Basically if its raining now, we will have a delayed start. That's what happened today.

No sure mate? They only had a sponge in the last test. Now I've read your post it all makes sense now but backing the draw at this stage at this price is crazy unless it's in Bangla or you know of any serious bad weather coming in. Pxb and Jucel will be waking up soon. Best people to ask.

I backed India 2k at 1.75. Went to sleep but put a stop/loss in at odds of 2.5.
Taking the 600 quid loss and walking away from this. The radars/satellites and forecasts have been all over the place so don't want to get involved anymore. The lack of drainage and equipment to mop up also worries me. If it was in SL I wouldn't be worried but these muppets have no way of getting this ground ready in an expedient manner. |

The fact the pitch wasn't ready for play at the start should have been a big red flag. Forecast looks OK for the next 2 days with just a couple of light showers.
With WI batting first, this could be over in 3 full days, and on the forecast we will probably get them, but not getting the pitch ready expediently is a big concern. I have a big red on the draw and will look to trade it down with hopefully decent weather day 2. det, I'm 7 hours ahead of the UK. |
