Even if we lost 3 whole days, Aus would still probably winLaugh. They could smash 200 in 40 overs & then bowl SL out in 50Crazy

I am counting on a miracle 7-13 bowling figures from Herath in the second innings. And a 30 not out.

The draw down to 6s was nonsense really. At tea Aus were about 1.17/1.18 and it is moving back there

Chase my losses top up at 9 or not? Needs some morning rain really. That's less likely than afternoons lost. Problem for any draw back is that the game could move like lightning if Aus lose another couple of wickets early tomorrow. Even with only say 60 overs bowled tomorrow, Aus all out for 200 and SL 50/2 at stumps is a very real prospect. Would need biblical downpours for the rest of the test to save the draw from there. Normally I'm happy enough to go fairly deep into the red zone early in a test but this one feels like a real train (wreck).

I'll wait till I see the satellite before start of play. Some early rain will bring the draw in quite a bit.

2nd innings scores better here than 1st, and as unlikely as it sounds, Lankans may discover how to bat.

Right now not really bothered whether it rains or not as green on draw and Aussies. Also not considering second innings yet. The immediate question for me is how big a lead do Aussies get from first innings and will it make much difference to current odds?

I think an Aus lay covers most things. Rain, wickets & slow play?
The only thing that will really bring the Aus price down is quick scoring and blue skies.
It looks cloudy/drizzly on the radar, but who knows!!
The last time Aus played here is interesting too. It wasn't a washout by any means, but ended up as a draw.
Aus declared at the end of day 3, 200+ runs ahead but couldn't bowl SL out due to quality batting & rain

Yes but that team had Jayawardena and Sanga in it so i doubt the capacity of the current team.  Think we will get first two sessions in most days so Australia should lead by 100 at stumps tonight with 3 days to play. Happy to be green Aust, breakeven draw and red Sri Lanka for a while.  Might trade the draw a bit to build up a bit of green there.

Yeh that was what I was inferring by quality batting!
I missed that game but I'm pretty sure the odds would have been similar at the end of the first day.
I wish I was green on AusCry

Aus were 60/0 at the end of day 1 in 2011 and SL had mustered 170, so I assume the odds would have been similar to what they are now.

Aus could still get a 100 lead, which would make it very difficult for lanka.

Morning
Couldn't refuse laying SL again at 8 but would feel a lot more comfortable if these two can get to SL's total. Not a great deal of batting after these two.

Could very easily have been 6 down. A good English ump let them off the hookAngry

The whole of SL clear on the sat. Could be the prospect of Aus batting long.
