At the SSC this time. A ground with a lot of draws. While P Sara has hardly any. The ground or the vagaries of the weather?
Forecast about the same as the last Test. I expected the draw to be shorter given the ground and was going to lay it, but 2.5 about right IMO.
SL have only lost 1 in the last 21 Tests here.
A modest lay of Lanka as India the better team, but without much conviction. I don't like to oppose that kind of history.

Doubt we get all of the overs in. Even with no rain, bad light could knock off a few. Getting to tea max 7 down is going to be some ask though.

when going at 4 an over all outcomes possible,no run rate dropping makes it draw or india win

The middle session has been the quietest in terms of wickets through the test match

Not really, let the trend be your friend. Old ball, the constant threat of a shower from nowhere etc. 20 overs til the new ball and people are pushing the draw down and then flip when the new ball approaches
Fair point - not complaining, it's done me a massive favour tbh. Just surprised it went as early as it did, esp when you consider the Lankan tail.
Not sure the market takes that in consideration just yet. India backers at short odds will also take a loss as the fear factor creeps in

Risky batting from Perera. SL win not even in the equation imo - although I have comedy green under them. Very good hour for them though after lunch.
your right slick indian price sticking around 1.47, might look to take a small green rather than wait and price doesn't move up just down?

Once India's odds start moving they too go quickly until they get a wicket
Tea without wickets and I'd have the draw pretty decent fave. No way do all of the 54 overs get played here.
Still best part of an hour until then though, huge ask to survive until then. Perera already lasted a lot longer than I thought he would.

I reckon there is only about 42 overs left. 1 hr til tea and 2 1/2 max after tea. 3 drinks breaks & fading light 3.5hrs x 12 per hour = 42
T20 generation believes anything is doable. SL should be 50s really.
yeh + the new ball will do plenty and slow the over rate down. A wicket is about 5 mins also.

They should of played for the new ball, then tried to see that off & then gone for the win in the last hour, if possible. Not great thinking

SL's session definitely. Game on after tea. Keeping most of my green on the draw, think bad light will come into play.
Probably about 2hrs 15 mins left, 28/29 overs. A long time for Mathews and the tail to last

well that's killed what could have been a great session of test cricket
Herath is good enough blocking 100 balls can the other block 70 balls, 12/1 draw is not the worst bet

i sympathies with batsman who face spin all day now after playing against an overseas spinner on a ****g awful wicket the other day. Managed to last his last 2 overs he had left but was a struggle.
Terrific test series to say the least, that's how tests should be played. Both the teams attacked and went for the win all through the series and hence no draw. India could have easily won it 3-0. but 2-1 is a fair result. Virat Kohli off the mark.
